The Islamabad talks are the highest-level US–Iran engagement since 1979. With the US vice president present & an 80-member Iranian delegation spanning diplomatic, military, political actors, including “hardliners”, this signals authority & alignment in Tehran to pursue a deal.

🚨 BREAKING: IRANIAN LEADERSHIP STRUCK IN TEHRAN In what could become a decisive moment in the conflict, Israeli forces reportedly struck a secret Supreme Council meeting in Tehran where senior Iranian officials had gathered to choose a new Supreme Leader. According to Israeli sources, intelligence identified the gathering of what remains of the regime’s top leadership. The strike targeted the meeting directly. “What’s left of the leadership was gathering to choose a new leader.” If confirmed, this would represent a devastating blow to the command structure of the Iranian regime, potentially removing key figures responsible for directing military operations and regional proxies. Meanwhile, Iran continues launching attacks toward Israel as the conflict escalates across the region. The war is no longer confined to shadow operations and proxy battles. The leadership itself is now in the crosshairs.

BREAKING: The U.S. military has launched airstrikes on Iranian targets after an attack on a cargo ship in Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM says the strikes targeted drone and missile storage sites, along with radar installations. ‼️‼️🇮🇱🇮🇷🇺🇲 BIG | According to The New York Times, United States intelligence suspected during the April peace talks that Israel was planning to assassinate two key members of the Iranian delegation—Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. In response, Washington requested several nations to alert Tehran regarding the imminent threat. Utilizing Pakistani and Qatari mediators, Iran demanded firm guarantees against clandestine operations targeting its officials. Amid these tensions, Ghalibaf was flying to Islamabad to meet with the Chinese Vice President when Pakistani fighter jets were deployed to escort the Iranian aircraft. On the return flight, Iranian intelligence intercepted data indicating an impending Israeli strike, coinciding with two Israeli fighter jets breaching Iranian airspace near the western border with Iraq. The plane made an emergency landing in Mashhad, forcing the delegation to complete an eight-hour overland journey to Tehran. Notably, Ghalibaf has narrowly survived death twice before: first during the war in June 2025, and later during a strike on a mountain bunker hosting a classified high-level meeting. This high-stakes incident illustrates how deeply fragile regional stability remains, with targeted assassinations of top diplomats nearly derailing active peace negotiations. The fact that the United States actively intervened to warn Iran underscores Washington's desperation to prevent an uncontrollable regional escalation, while Pakistan's direct military escort signals the growing involvement of neighboring nuclear powers in shielding key regional actors from Israeli kinetic operations. BREAKING | 🇮🇷🇺🇸‼️‼️ Iran is preparing to hit back harder and potentially farther. Senior Iranian officials told Reuters that Tehran is planning a broader and more powerful response if the United States resumes large-scale attacks, potentially expanding beyond U.S. assets in the Middle East. Three senior Iranian officials and another source familiar with the discussions said commanders are considering plans that could extend to countries supporting U.S. military operations and potentially to targets beyond the Middle East. Allied groups in Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq have also been told to prepare for a coordinated response. Tehran continues diplomatic efforts through Qatar, but Iranian officials privately assess the chances of reaching an agreement with Washington as very low. The warning signals that another round of major U.S. strikes could widen the confrontation geographically rather than simply restart the previous cycle of attacks. By preparing allied groups and raising the possibility of action beyond the Middle East, Tehran is signaling that renewed escalation could become significantly harder to contain. In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi revealed that the Iranian delegation encountered security threats during the negotiations with the United States in Islamabad. Marandi said the timing of how the talks were "very abruptly ended by JD Vance," coinciding with a Washington Post opinion piece calling for "a final barrage of leadership strikes, eliminating the Iranian officials who had been spared for the purpose of negotiations." He added that, due to the security risks, the delegation was forced to return via an alternative route and a different aircraft.

“During the First Intifada, the Stone Intifada, our efforts were focused inside the occupied homeland. Then one of our brothers, Dr. Khalil al-Qouqa, was deported [by 'Israel' from Gaza]. At the Leader's [i.e., Ayatollah Khamenei's] instruction, he was sought out, located, and contacted. A meeting with Hamas was requested, and the first meeting took place. The initiative came from Mr. Ali Khamenei, who instructed one of the officials of the Islamic Republic to travel from Iran to where Dr. Khalil—Sheikh Khalil al-Qouqa—was staying at the time and invite him to a meeting. The Iranian official then arranged a meeting with a delegation representing the movement as a whole. After that, a delegation from the movement traveled to Tehran to participate in the Conference in Support of the Intifada in 1991. Then came the first official visit by a leadership delegation from the movement, in October 1992, headed by Musa Abu Marzouk. […] In this meeting, he outlined the course of the relationship as he saw it. He [Seyyed Khameini] remarked that it is our religious and legal responsibility to support you […] This was the path laid out from the very first meeting, and it remained a constant […] despite all the changes in the regional, international, and Palestinian political landscape.” In a new interview (recorded Friday, July 3, 2026), Hamas political bureau member and Lebanon representative Osama Hamdan delineates the beginnings of the Hamas movement’s relationship with Iran to al-Alam TV.

BREAKING | 🇺🇸🇮🇷‼️‼️ President Donald Trump says “very big things” are coming in the Iran war as he enters what he described as a decisive phase over Washington’s next move, leaving both renewed military escalation and a diplomatic deal on the table. Trump described his options in extraordinarily stark terms, ranging from further military action and allowing Iran’s economy to deteriorate to negotiating an agreement with Tehran. He warned Iran to “behave,” while simultaneously saying he would probably be open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during the UN General Assembly in New York next week. The combination of escalating rhetoric and an open diplomatic channel makes the coming days potentially pivotal for the direction of the war. Trump has already said he is approaching a major decision over whether to resume large-scale military operations, while the possibility of direct talks with Pezeshkian leaves a narrow path toward de-escalation open. ‼️‼️🇮🇱🇮🇷BIG | The New York Times has published an explosive investigative report revealing that Israel's intelligence services spent years cultivating former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a high-value asset and a potential transitional leader following a future regime change in Tehran. According to the intelligence disclosure, Israeli operatives regularly met with Ahmadinejad on foreign soil, utilizing academic conferences and events in countries like Hungary to mask their highly sensitive, clandestine meetings. The long-term operation reached its climax during the direct 2026 Israel-Iran war. Following a precision Israeli airstrike on his residential complex, a specialized team of Mossad operatives successfully extracted Ahmadinejad from Tehran, moving him to a pre-established safehouse inside Iranian territory as part of a broader, orchestrated regime-change blueprint. The high-stakes operation ultimately collapsed after Ahmadinejad abruptly vanished from the safehouse under unverified circumstances. Iranian state officials have since announced that the former president is currently held under strict house arrest after security agencies fully uncovered his alleged treasonous ties to Israeli intelligence. 🇮🇷🇺🇸⚡️ Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is signaling that Tehran is ready to end the war, arguing that Iran should seek an agreement now while, in his words, it remains in a “position of strength and dignity.” 🗣️ “It is better to end the war now, while we are in a position of strength and dignity,” Pezeshkian said. He claimed that “the entire world recognizes Iran’s victory” and accused the United States of violating international norms by striking Iranian schools, hospitals and infrastructure. “Because of this, America has become an object of hatred throughout the world,” he added. Pezeshkian’s rhetoric appears designed to frame a potential end to hostilities as a victory rather than a concession, an important distinction for Tehran domestically. After a costly confrontation, Iran’s leadership needs any negotiated exit to preserve deterrence and political credibility. The key question is whether Washington is prepared to offer terms Tehran can publicly present as an honorable settlement, particularly as the Trump administration simultaneously intensifies economic pressure. In an interview to Al Mayadeen English, professor Seyed Mohammad Marandi states the Iranian delegation felt seriously threatened during their return from negotiations in Pakistan. The talks ended abruptly after US Vice President Vance’s intervention, coinciding exactly with the publication of an opinion piece in the Washington Post. In his view, this was a deliberate message implying the risk of elimination. As a result, on the way back to Tehran, the delegation secretly switched planes. Their aircraft suddenly diverted and made an emergency landing in Mashhad. From there, the members continued to Tehran by train, car, and bus. Despite the perceived threat, the entire delegation boarded the plane together with high spirits and steadfast resolve, refusing to remain in Pakistan — mirroring the courage shown by ordinary Iranians on the streets during the missile attacks.
