‘The Elder’ era was definitely…different for KISS!

Still incredible to me that they went through with this.

I think if you really listen to it , the riffs and many of the chord progression are still Kiss . The biggest change was subject matter and for me I found it truly refreshing. It's in my top 5 of theirs for me.

I see why Ace didn't care for it much.

I’m sorry to any fans out there but KISS suck. Shittier rock songs than good rock bands and shittier disco songs than good disco bands. KISS suck, but had good merch.

Well this attempt to make a conceptual album specially when the band was not in their best moment was destined to fail. Ace was about to leave the band ..However The Oath is a great song!

You can see where Spinal Tap got the idea to do concept albums when most of their other songs were about brainless hedonism.

Hi Punt, I never thought it was a bad record for what it was suppose to be as a "Concept" album, the only thing that ruined it for me was Ace's vocals. He could never sing..🕊️

I quite like “The Elder”. And I wouldn’t be a massive Kiss fan.

It's too bad because "I" was a great Kiss song.

I love “The Elder”. First cassette I ever owned. When I got to high school I had to lend it to about 20 kids who all said they never wanted to buy the album because of the backlash…they all liked it!

Every video/song of theirs is a suck job. They must have had some kind of ‘in’ with some big music executives.

Almost reads like a parody from THE ELECTRIC COMPANY or something... but the riffs and such seem a little more creative than some of their bigger stuff

Why couldn’t AC/DC have done a proggy concept album. Would have been the funniest thing ever!!!

I loved it. Not crazy about the haircuts and purple headband, but there are some excellent tracks on that album. And first LP with Eric.
