Possums can get rabies, it’s just super rare. Something about the body temperature and the disease doesn’t incubate very well. A possum is extremely unlikely to have rabies, but it’s not completely impossible.

Possum’s are good for several reasons, just look it up. They are also VERY good at harboring tons of mites, transferable diseases and is generally considered a very BAD idea to pick up a feral animal of any kind & put it on your lap. I hope she didn’t share a bed with him 🙄

Opossums eat ticks. As long as they have a water supply and ticks to eat they’ll stay around. I had a massive tick problem in my back yard until 1 came to live there.
