The side effects of collapse or neglet dont happen whilst one is on the driving seat. They take up years or months to manifest. Like in 2008 when the ANC was told that the good times at Eskom wont last. They didn't listen until the nice times caught up with us.

@Eskom_SA Solar and renewable energy will never replace coal powered power stations. And we have seen it also in countries that are actually funding us to go to renewables that they themselves are switching back on their coal power stations. But capitalism is the mafia game
