In fact, I stated in my own words that the SAPS owes General Khan for what he did, because he stopped police officers who had come to collect drugs under the authority of the then head of traffic routing.” Gen Mkhwanazi’s testimony at the Madlanga Commission regarding General Khan. It is for this reason that The Ad Hoc Committee had no substantive basis to call him for questioning. Suggestions that he was ‘protected’ by the CIC Julius Sello Malema are therefore based on a fallacy and are not supported by the evidence on record.

IDAC when they went to court to apply for warrants of arrest for General Khumalo and the other Generals for Brigadier Mokwele's appointment, they mentioned why was General Khan not included in the Interview Panel!! Bathong ba Modimo. 😭 Commissioner Khumalo is asking what business was it of IDAC to insert themselves in SAPS Interview panels. #MadlangaCommission

Vusi Shongwe says if you add numbers of Ad Hoc committee members of MKP, ANC and DA, they would outnumber other parties and get General Khan, except what happened that day is that the CIC was most vocal in getting Khan to not come but the other parties sided with him. So, how is it Malema who was responsible for not having Khan appear before the committee if others shared his views? Is he suggesting that ANC, MKP and DA agreed to get Khan there or they shared same sentiments with the EFF or Shongwe just wanted to drop Juju’s name?

He said the CI member stated they "needed to fix things"—meaning Witness I should make a statement clearing Major General Khan at his disciplinary hearing. He refused, saying that would amount to perjury. The CI member then allegedly said: "You will get a bag and they will facilitate for you to get a promotion at work if you help Major General Khan." So General Khan's Doctor deposed an Affidavit and submitted to General Khumalo to explain what General Khan and his son did to make him change the dates. ■ Khan sent his son to the doctor on 22 May 2026 to ask for adjustment of the medical certificate ■ Doctor asked the son if the certificates had been submitted to work already because he thought maybe they experienced some beraucratic glitch ■ He explained to him that changing the sick note would amount to fraud ■ The son went out to call his dad. Came back and said no they had not been submitted to work ■ Doctor then changed the date to 27th June as requested He washed his hands and refused to be thrown under the bus. Advocate Hassim said, to his credit, he volunteered this Affidavit to SAPS. #MadlangaCommission
