Exactly. Cartels do not survive on their own. They survive because politicians, public officials, police officers, businessmen, and institutions protect them, enable them, or look the other way. If the goal is truly to dismantle organized crime, investigations cannot stop at the gunmen. They must also reach the officials who opened the door, provided protection, and profited from corruption. No one should be above scrutiny. No one should be shielded by political power, party affiliation, or claims of sovereignty.

No drug cartel -no matter how powerful it may be- can operate without the collaboration of corrupt officials or members of those terrorist organizations that infiltrate political parties like @PartidoMorenaMx and rise to public positions such as mayors, governors, senators, and other representatives. In practice, Mexico is a failed state; narco-terrorism is present at every level, starting from the executive branch. @OHarfuch himself never passed any test to determine whether he had pacts with the narcos.
