In San Francisco, we are doubling capacity to care for people with severe mental health and behavioral health challenges, helping them get on a path to stability. These new locked beds at San Francisco’s General Hospital will give people the treatment and support they need, helping us move faster to connect individuals to the right level of care. This is a major step in strengthening our behavioral health system, and I’m grateful to SFDPH Director Dan Tsai, our partners, our frontline workers, and everyone helping us bring this expansion to life.

When hiring executives, travis kalanick prioritizes one skill above all others: the ability to solve hard problems. "There's two things you want an executive to do. You want them to be able to organize, manage, and lead at scale. You also want them to be epic and strategic problem solvers... the best executives are the ones that are doing both well." "I have come to the conclusion over my years, that problem solving is the most important thing. If you get somebody who organizes and manages well but cannot solve a problem, they're going to be doing ridiculous stuff in a super organized way. The only constraint on your imagination is management capacity. But what is management capacity? It's really problem solving at scale."

Most importantly, you need to have principles that deal with reality. Embrace reality, deal with it, and have those core principles. If everyone took the time to write down their principles and think about how to deal with specific situations, the world would operate a lot more effectively. I’ve been through those experiences and I wrote down my recipes. You can consider my recipes, or anyone else’s recipes, but at the end of the day, you must believe them and do what is good for you. Because if you don’t have principles, everything looks the same. I encourage you to have your own principles that you understand and believe in, wherever you get them. #Principles #PersonalGrowth #DecisionMaking

Diagnose the problems to get at their root causes. 4. Design a path to fix those things. 5. Push through to results. This is what I call looping. Go for your goals, identify your problems, get to the root cause, design a path, and push through. Life is basically just doing that over and over again. If you do that, you'll make the advances. #Principles #RayDalio #PersonalGrowth
