Royal Reporter Emily Ferguson, shared that while visiting the Charing Cross Hospital in London today, “Catherine bonded with a volunteer who worked with chemotherapy patients who told them how patients and visitors ‘sit there for hours’. Charlene says Catherine didn't rush into it because she had time, which is true. She says 💀 'it wasn't like she was a woman in her late thirties who has to really think hard about finding someone and having a kid'. {note: I don't like the comparisons between the women, it suggests competition, which is silly. I look at them as two different cultures - British monarchy and US celebrity} Charlene says 'we possibly know more about Markle as a person than we do about Catherine'. I agree with this, in a way. I've seen and heard more personal content from M than I have of Catherine. Social media, interviews, anecdotes. On and on. 🤷🏻‍♀️ i'm not sure if they think it's a negative about Catherine, but I think it's a strength. Especially for a Queen of a constitutional monarchy. What a Queen should be, what their role is, is a fascinating topic. A 'movie Queen' in the movies may be political, or an activist, or challenge despots and dictators. She might be the speaker at a rally, rousing the crowd. That's not really the role though, and not something that apolitically highlights and unifies communities. Catherine has been in the public eye for over twenty years and she is known for being private, inscrutable and an enigma*. Much like the Late Queen Elizabeth.
