As I get older I find it more of a depressing watch. Amazing movie but I feel more empathetic for Seth Brundle every watch so while an unpleasant watch it is a masterpiece

His behavioural changes scare me perhaps more than his physical change.

The scene where he explains that she must leave him because he’s becoming an insect and they behave without compassion or care for anything but survival was a brutal scene to watch

Goldblum's descent into madness and into a human sized insect was masterfully portrayed. What a disturbing psychological film. I've seen it twice. Still sticks with me, but twice is enough.

The creature design at the end and his slow transformation through the whole movie is absolutely terrifying

I prefer the original by a wide margin.

I thought that Jeff Goldblum did a good job in The Fly 1986 imo.

the whole final act is brilliant as soon as I saw parts of the pod telepod vanish when Brundlefly tried to leave the pod as the counter hit zero I knew he was gonna be fucked what a finale

This and A Nightmare on Elm street still haunt me to this day

A well-done body horror/tragedy film. Seth’s a quirky, likable guy which makes his breakdown at the molecular level into a sickly fly mutation and the trauma that his inner circle go through that much more gut-wrenching, especially that closing stretch.

As a kid, I thought this movie was a horrible flick
