The prosperity gospel has deeply infiltrated nearly every level of the Nigerian church. For the first time, we want to share a clip from Bishop David Abioye to show how most major ministries have been misled by its corrupt doctrines. Bishop David Oyedepo once claimed that Job's suffering was a result of not paying tithes. However, the Bible does not support this. Job's calamities were allowed by God to demonstrate his righteousness to Satan. Job himself worshipped God, acknowledging that God gives and takes. Furthermore, Job lived before Abraham and Moses, so he couldnโ€™t have been aware of tithing. In the video below, Bishop Abioye states that Jesus' primary mission was to address poverty. He also claimed that sickness is better than poverty and that Jesus came with power and prosperity, becoming so wealthy that His money replenished overnight. Lastly, he stated that Jesus became poor so that we might be rich. The prosperity gospel is driven by a lying spirit. It corrupts the doctrine of even the most sincere man of God. First, Jesus did not come to eliminate poverty. He came to grant eternal life through His death, which is available to everyone, rich or poor. This is something everyone needs, especially the rich. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." This was the purpose of Jesus' missionโ€”offering escape from judgment and eternal life. He became sin for us so that we could become the righteousness of God, not to eradicate poverty. 1 Peter 1:3โ€“5 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." A living hope in heaven. That's what Jesus died for. As for sickness being better than poverty, consider a mother whose five-year-old child had brain cancer in that service. Wouldnโ€™t she trade all the wealth in the world for her childโ€™s health? Bishop Abioye claimed that Jesus was respected because of His prosperity, but the Bible teaches otherwise. Jesus earned acclaim not from wealth, but from His teaching and the power of the Spirit. Mark 1:22 states, "And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes." Similarly, Mark 1:27 says, "And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, 'What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him." Jesus commanded reverence because of His doctrine and His power, not because of material wealth. Bishop Abioye also claimed that Jesus was wealthy, but the Bible never says that. In fact, the miracle of feeding the five thousand was prompted by a lack of money to buy food. John 6:7 states, "Philip answered Him, 'Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little.'" The prosperity gospel is not true. To promote it, one must distort Scripture, and thatโ€™s exactly what has happened here. Weโ€™ve seen similar distortions from other church leaders. Pastor Ibiyeomi recently claimed that Jesus hated poor people and never visited them. He even said we should be angry if we associate with the poor. He misquoted the verse about Jesus becoming poor so that we could be rich, just as Bishop Abioye did. Recently, Dr. Paul Enenche said that Satan wouldnโ€™t fear a poor church, even if it were fervent in prayer. Pastor Chris also said that to be poor is to be close to wickedness, claiming that Lazarus, the only poor man in heaven, was kept in Abrahamโ€™s house because he didnโ€™t own a house. This logic suggests that earthly wealth can somehow secure a place in heaven, which is not true. In fact, Abrahamโ€™s bosom represents paradise, the reward for all the righteous, regardless of their earthly wealth. Pastor Chris further suggested that the rich man ordered Lazarus to give him water because he knew Lazarus was poor. However, the true reason was that the rich man finally recognized that Lazarus, not he, had true riches. Lazarus begged him on earth, he begged Lazarus in eternity. It was a tragedy for him. Many others perpetuate this damaging view, like Biodun Fatoyinbo, who claimed you canโ€™t trust the godliness of a poor man. And Korede Komaiya, who said poverty killed Jesus and that His apostles were "riff-raff" because they lacked billions. Why are we highlighting this now? The prosperity gospel has caused great harm to the body of Christ in Nigeria. It has replaced the saving power of the cross with cash. As a result, we have no revival, and many Christians are serving their desires instead of God. God and the church have been reduced to a spiritual shopping mall where people come to get things. Many leave Nigeria, enjoying basic comforts, only to forget the church because they were never taught about the true riches of eternal life. We are not highlighting these issues out of disdain for SOME of the leaders mentioned here. If that were our goal, may Godโ€™s judgment fall on the hand that types these words. Rather, we are speaking out so that we can all wake up and recognize how Satan has infiltrated our ranks with his false gospel. Some of these leaders are victims themselves, having been mentored by American mainstream ministers who propagated the capitalist gospel. This tradition has been passed down for so long that it feels like the truth, but it is not. It has damaged the gospel in the West, and now it is damaging us. It has hurt Jesus and His ways. But a revival is here, and Godโ€™s light is shining through once again. Prosperity gospel is a lie. It will die. The gospel of righteousness is the true and eternal truth, to Godโ€™s glory alone. Amen.

Some supporters of Pakatan Harapan have criticised me for supposedly remaining silent over the recent speech by Kedah Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Sanusi Md Nor, which has sparked widespread controversy and is now under police investigation. This is not the first time that the Kedah Menteri Besar's speeches, many of which have carried strong racial undertones, have generated public outrage and attracted police scrutiny. His latest speech, delivered during the Negeri Sembilan state election campaign, has also created friction between Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional. In fact, UMNO President Dato' Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi openly signalled that Sanusi was no longer welcome to campaign in Negeri Sembilan. As the backlash intensified, Sanusi and his supporters began offering various explanations. One of the familiar defences often used by politicians was that his words had supposedly been taken out of context or distorted by the media. He has also threatened legal action against numerous individuals and organisations. At the same time, he published a lengthy statement in English, citing historical British politicians whom he claimed shared similar views in an attempt to justify his position. I will be discussing this issue in much greater depth in YBM Podcast Episode 57, airing this Friday, 31 July, at 9:00 p.m. For now, however, I would like to introduce one important perspective regarding the doctrine that lies beneath speeches like these. But before we go any further, what exactly did Sanusi say? This is the relevant excerpt from his speech in Jempol, beginning at around the 14-minute mark: "The Malays no longer have any land. The Malays only have this Malay land. The Indians have India. The Chinese have China..." Those defending Sanusi argue that he was merely stating a historical or factual reality, that this is the homeland of the Malays. Those offended by his remarks argue that the real message goes far beyond the literal words. They believe the underlying implication is that non-Malays are merely immigrants who will always have another homeland besides Malaysia. Whether one agrees with either interpretation often depends on one's own political instincts and emotional inclinations. My analysis, however, takes a somewhat different direction. I am less interested in debating the literal or implied meaning of the speech itself. Instead, I am interested in examining the much deeper question that is rarely discussed openly, the underlying doctrine that continues to produce politicians like Sanusi Md Nor, and speeches like these, generation after generation. At its core, this is a question about the kind of society we have chosen to build, and the kind of Malaysian society we want to become in the future. Many of the political campaigns we have witnessed over the years, whether under slogans such as Penyatuan Ummah, Muafakat Nasional, or claims that "the Malays only have this land", ultimately stem from the very same political doctrine. That doctrine can be summarised quite simply. It says that the Malays are the rightful masters of this country. If you are a Malaysian citizen who is not Malay, you are welcome to live here, but ultimately you should accept whatever decisions the Malays make. Those decisions are to be determined by Malay political leaders, acting on behalf of the Malay community. Under this doctrine, non-Malay political leaders who choose to cooperate with these Malay-led parties are viewed as acceptable because they are seen as respecting and submitting to this framework. On the other hand, non-Malay leaders who contest elections against them are portrayed as being disrespectful, challenging Malay authority, and threatening Malay political dominance. When a majority of non-Malay voters support parties outside this political coalition, the contest is no longer framed as one political party competing against another. Instead, it is portrayed as non-Malays confronting Malays. Surprisingly few people have examined the long-term political consequences of organising an entire nation around such a doctrine. Several important questions naturally arise. First, has this doctrine succeeded in creating genuine harmony within Malaysian society? So far, the answer appears to be no. As long as this doctrine exists, there will always be those who believe that the Federal Constitution guarantees equal rights to every Malaysian regardless of race, while simultaneously protecting the special position and legitimate rights of the Bumiputera community. This means the doctrine can only deliver temporary political victories. Over time, the political pendulum will continue swinging from one extreme to the other. The greatest beneficiaries of this cycle are political leaders, both Malay and non-Malay, who obtain positions of power, salaries, and influence. Meanwhile, the everyday lives of ordinary Malaysians, regardless of race, remain largely unchanged. Second, has this doctrine succeeded in elevating the economic standing of the Malays? Again, the evidence suggests otherwise. The statistics tell a remarkably consistent story. Even when governments were overwhelmingly Malay, such as during the long years of UMNO rule, when roughly 80 percent of the Cabinet was Malay and the government commanded a two-thirds parliamentary majority, Bumiputera equity ownership remained stubbornly around 17 to 18 percent. Governments have changed. Political coalitions have changed. Prime ministers have come and gone. Yet Bumiputera equity ownership has barely moved. Whenever a new generation of leaders embracing this doctrine comes to power, they publicly champion Malay political supremacy. But behind closed doors, they shake hands with many of the very same Chinese and Indian business tycoons whom they criticised while they were in opposition. That is why governments may change, yet the underlying structure of the economy rarely does. The only thing that changes is which group of politically connected elites, Malay, Chinese, or Indian gets to share in the nation's wealth. Third, has this doctrine succeeded in eliminating corruption? In reality, it has often contributed to the very problem it claims to oppose. A political doctrine built upon ethnic dominance inevitably concentrates enormous discretionary power in the hands of those controlling the government. They decide who receives licences. They decide who wins government contracts. They decide who enjoys monopolies. Governments may change, but those licences, contracts, and monopolies continue to circulate within a relatively small circle of well-connected individuals. Within that circle are Malays, Chinese, and Indians alike, many of whom eventually become close allies of those who previously campaigned most aggressively under this doctrine. As long as this doctrine remains unchallenged, insufficiently examined, and poorly understood, Malaysia's political pendulum will continue swinging back and forth. At one point, this doctrine dominates public discourse, and the parties promoting it win power. Once in government, many of them repeat the same old practices while hiding behind the rhetoric of protecting Malay rights. Over time, however, the public begins to witness corruption, administrative failures, abuse of power, and growing displays of wealth among the political elite. The pendulum then swings in the opposite direction, and they lose power. But if the new government fails to challenge this doctrine by governing better and delivering meaningful reform, it unintentionally breathes new life into the very doctrine it defeated. Before long, the political pendulum begins swinging back once again. That, in my view, is precisely where Malaysian politics stands today. What I have shared here is only the beginning of a much broader discussion. I hope you will join me for YBM Podcast Episode 57 this Friday, 31 July, where I will explore these ideas in much greater depth.

//The Wire//2300Z October 7, 2025// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: ISRAELI GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN TARGETING THE GPS POSITION OF AMERICAN CHRISTIANS DURING WORSHIP SERVICES. PRAVDA PUBLISHER DEAD AFTER FALL FROM APARTMENT WINDOW. GERMAN MAYOR WOUNDED IN STABBING ATTACK.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Germany: Overnight the Mayor of Herdecke, Iris Stalzer, remains in critical condition after being jumped and stabbed by a group of men. Analyst Comment: As is customary in Germany, very few details have been released on this case. However, locals observed Stalzer's own adopted son being taken from the scene in handcuffs and an evidence-preserving suit. Locals state that she was attacked and mugged by a group of migrants, and that when police arrived they discovered that her own adopted son was part of the gang that attacked her. Right now, this is purely rumor and only a single photo adds credence to the claims that her son was involved in some way. Time will tell what the truth is in this case, and in the absence of information there's not much to go on either way. Russia: Yesterday afternoon the publisher of Pravda died after falling from a window in Moscow. Vyacheslav Leontyev was discovered deceased after falling from his 5th-story apartment window, with local authorities stating that he jumped after experiencing a nervous breakdown. -HomeFront- USA: Controversy has mounted following the publishing of FARA documents pertaining to surveillance operations at Christian churches throughout the western United States. Last week, the official Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs partnered with (or created themselves, the ownership data is sketchy) an LLC in the United States by the name of "Show Faith By Works, LLC". As this company is directly controlled by a foreign government, it was required to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). In the 86 page registration form, the organizers self-describe this company as being formed to carry out the "largest Geofencing and targeted Christian Digital Campaign ever". This would be accomplished by geofencing most churches in the region and displaying targeted ads to Christians specifically with reference to the October 7th attacks while they are actively attending a church service (per the paperwork that was filed). -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Everyone is strongly encouraged to read the documentation yourself, as linked below on the official US government website. Overall, what this means in the clearest possible terms, is that if you are a Christian who brings your cell phone to church in the western United States, the government of Israel is openly and publicly surveilling your phone and your exact GPS coordinates. If anyone did not surmise such before, this paperwork confirms beyond all doubt that this is occurring. As a reminder, this is not a private company...this is the actual Israeli government purchasing analytics data from American service providers. As such Christians who bring their phones into Church during worship times, will very likely receive targeted advertisements to encourage them to think a certain way about the October 7th attacks while in Church, as the paperwork specifically states that smartphones owned by Christians will be targeted during worship times. The documentation detailing this campaign also is not limited to Churches...the GPS tracking merely starts once a Christian enters into the geofenced area around a Church. If a Christian enters a church perimeter, but later leaves...the surveillance of their GPS position will continue. The geofencing barriers being placed around churches are merely to identify which smartphones belong to Christians. If a person's phone enters the church grounds on a certain time on Sunday morning, this device can be associated with Christianity, and once that association is made, targeted ads (and further surveillance) can be undertaken at a later time and place. Most analytics data that is available for purchase on the free market is anonymized...buyers can't tell what your phone number or name is. But based on the context of a person being physically located inside a church, this is good enough for Israeli governmental needs when it comes to this information campaign. It is this association that is important...the aggregation of the geographic context of one's position is concerning. Using these geofencing parameters, this campaign is not really about serving ads while a person is in church...it's a mass database of Christians. All of this is allegedly being done to push pro-Israel propaganda, as openly admitted by their own documentation. They even put together many powerpoint slides detailing the plans of the campaign, as well as a list of allegedly every single church that has been targeted for this operation. All things considered, the only reason we know about this effort is because the actual government of Israel created this company...if it were instead a shell company or an "American owned" entity, no one would know this surveillance is taking place and service providers would happily sell their customers' data to the highest bidder secretly. Foreign governments target American citizens for advertising purposes all the time, usually on topics like tourism. What makes this campaign worthy of mention is that it is attempting to be the largest in history, and it's targeting Americans purely and solely based on their faith. Furthermore, considering Israel's history with electronic devices, and the nature of this alleged ad campaign specifically to target Christians for their faith and church attendance, there are much wider concerns than a simple ad being displayed on one's social media timeline. The same foreign government that exploded devices in the pockets of their enemies is now openly and specifically targeting Christian smartphones...and the US government is fine with it as long as they fill out a form first. When American citizens have to think about putting their phone in a Faraday bag before they pull in to the church parking lot on Sunday, just so that a foreign government doesn't track them back to their home afterward...this is a problem. Openly paying clergymen money to specifically read a script spouting the talking points of a nationstate leaves very little uncertainty as to what the overall goals of this endeavor are. And while this situation is not new by any means, and may even be pencil-whipped into being legal over the years, pretending that this behavior is not abhorrent is also disingenuous. If this exact effort were to be carried out by any other nation, very serious consequences would result. But because of what has become obvious in American politics, there is almost zero chance that there will be any pushback on this at all, at least from federal agencies. On February 5, 2025, Attorney General Pam Bondi signed a memo to all DoJ employees, outlining her initiatives for the Department after being appointed to the position. This memo specifically referenced her initiative to change FARA reporting requirements for the first time in decades. This memo ordered the disbanding the NSA's Corporate Enforcement Unit, as well as the Foreign Influence Task Force. Granted, random government "task forces" aren't often effective at much, so this could have just been routine downsizing after a change of power in Washington. However, the overall strategic goal of the DoJ as outlined in this memo is clear: to downsize and deprioritize FARA policing efforts. More broadly, while this is a brazen effort by a foreign government, it would be very foolish to assume that this is the first time such action has been undertaken. These documents, while quite illuminating for some, are the least surprising "smoking gun" documents to come to light in recent memory. Even this campaign is not alone, there are two other wings of this operation. PROJECT ESTHER is a similar effort also being carried out by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and is the line of effort that specifically targets social media influencers to push pro-Israeli messaging. The other branch of this operation is the PROJECT 545 initiative (which is the more well-funded aspect of these efforts). This more generalized program is intended to launch a $145 million dollar propaganda campaign to target Americans in general with specific pro-Israeli messaging.
