@OliverKamm If you cannot understand the language, spoken & written, you should not be entitled to vote in a system you don’t understand. That should be base line. Stupid comment comparing to Dubai where there are NO free public services, education, benefits or voting rights.

@OliverKamm As a nurse, we admitted a Pakistani lady one night. We had to call-out a translator. She'd lived here for FORTY YEARS but never learned English! 🙄

@OliverKamm Doubt the government will actually deport any that couldn't or won't learn the Language, Just alot more nonsense trying to make themselves look like they are doing something. It would save millions in DWP in tranlators. And no voting if you won't learn the language. Intergrate!

Language is just a medium of exchange of idea, idea is important not the medium. CSS exam should be allowed to be conducted in Urdu and major languages, as is the case in India's UPSC. Many sages are kicked out due to mistakes in English & fools r welcomed bcz of English.

💥REPORT: Immigration Canada denies a French national (who speaks fluent English) a work visa for failing an English exam — but Indians and Muslims who can't speak a lick of either official language are fast-tracked into the country. Tom Mandala has lived in Montreal for seven years, studying at UQAM, but his work visa was denied on the grounds that he didn’t include language proficiency in either French or English. Mandala had to pass an English equivalency test at UQAM to obtain his diploma, but it wasn't recognized as credible by Immigration Canada.

Sorry, but if you can’t speak English, you shouldn’t be an MP in the UK. This isn’t racism. It’s competence. You’re there to debate laws, scrutinise government, and represent the public in English. That’s not “diversity”. That’s incompetence dressed up as virtue.

There are 872,000 people in Australia who are here on a permanent basis who either speak no English at all or very little English. How has this been allowed to happen? No one should be given the right to stay in our country on a permanent basis if they do not have a good command of English. How can we hope to live in an integrated, cohesive society if people are able to settle here on a permanent basis without speaking English? Under One Nation, under no circumstances will you be able to settle here if you are not fluent in English.

How can you hope to integrate if you don’t speak English? Pauline got a very strange question from an SBS journalist at her big media event earlier this week. The journalist said that SBS provides news in over 60 languages. According to the journalist in question, this was meant to help integration! In response, Pauline made it clear that no one should be allowed to permanently settle in Australia unless they speak English. Clearly, this must be an absolute prerequisite. Earlier in her speech, Pauline pointed out that the 2021 Census revealed that 872,000 people self-declared that they either didn’t speak English at all or spoke it very poorly. Moreover, 23% of households didn’t use English at home. The English language is the glue that binds our society together. If you want to make Australia your home, you must speak and write English fluently. One might have thought this was obvious, but sadly nothing is obvious under this failing Labor government.

This makes a mockery of our entire political system and our constitution The oath is supposed to be understood as well as given We have a common language in the UK, it's English This should be the only language you can take an oath in Why are they allowed to declare they don't care for their oaths before swearing them?
