So I had just heard about it, and I said, how did they come up with that? It's supposed to be me as a doctor making people better, and I do make people better. I make people a lot better.

When Levi found out there was a role around his age, he asked his dad if he could audition. “Is he cast yet?” Matthew said no. “Can I read for it?” But Matthew made him come back four times before finally sitting him down and explaining what acting actually required. “There ain’t no attitude BS, this ain’t modeling. This is like you got to go with soul and no in your bones.” Levi auditioned, and Matthew immediately noticed something. “Kid can hold a frame. He can behave honestly. He’s comfortable with silences.” The audition impressed casting director Francine Maisler enough to send it to director Paul Greengrass. But Matthew didn’t want Levi’s famous last name affecting the decision. “What if he gets it? Is he going to have a little inkling that oh, my last name helped me get in there?” So they pulled his last name and sent the audition to Greengrass.
