I could not agree more with Coach Saban’s words. A lot of what he’s talking about is in the book Good to Great by Jim Collins. And in hindsight, I think most managers, with only a few exceptions, have little clue about who really belongs on the bus and what direction to drive the bus. Collins mentioned several companies in his book as examples and a large percentage of them have had some significant management shortcomings…. at least one is no longer in business.
