Our colleges and universities must educate, not indoctrinate. We have brought accountability to our higher education system, fought the woke, and returned the focus to the classic mission of universities. Republicans in the Florida House are trying to roll back this progress, give a lifeline to the political left, and pave the way for the re-wokification of Florida's higher education system. HB 1321 should be nicknamed the "Make Universities Woke Again" Act because it would remove the accountability that is required to prevent our colleges and universities from reverting to a focus on indoctrination.

That’s why Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Education and his team went to work — and presented a blueprint to make higher education more affordable and accessible for all Pennsylvanians. And after Democrats and Republicans came together, we invested more in our HBCUs, community colleges, and Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education institutions — all while investing more money in new scholarships to help bring down the cost of higher education.

Now I’ve seen it all The Wall Street Journal is actually reporting that Donald Trump taking away loan funding for college majors that don’t financially benefit students is “a good thing” Even calling them “clown colleges” “College programs that don't leave graduates financially better off will soon be ineligible for federal student loan funding. Here's why that's a good thing.” They explain how predatory colleges have become and how by taking away the funding for these programs it’ll force schools to lower their prices and make college cheaper “When the government stops providing taxpayer-funded loans to these programs, it keeps students from making a bad investment, and it incentivizes colleges to either lower prices or reform these programs to make them better. The government shouldn't fund college programs that leave students worse off” “The point of a federal student loan program should be to help students access a quality education, not give money to literal clown colleges.” Honest reporting from the Wall Street Journal… who knew that was even possible There was a study done on colleges and colleges who had students with access to federal student loans and Pell grants had 78% higher prices than other schools that didn’t have those students So this means colleges are skyrocketing prices because federal loans will be given out to cover the costs. A student visa is a temporary document to study in Canada. That was always understood. Our universities and colleges were built by Alberta taxpayers, first and foremost for Alberta students. Where there is room for international students, the terms are simple. Earn your education, then return home to build a life with it. Rules are what make a fair system fair and our country needs to return to an immigration process that respects the rules.
