It looks to be moving over the hogback to the eastern side of it now. Flames can be seen from Alameda and 470 where before it was just smoke.

Curious/suspicious how these fires seem to start on high wind warning days.

UPDATE: The fire is out, investigators are on scene. The fire started on the outside of a duplex, burned through the wood deck, and climbed up into the attic on one side of the structure. Then it traveled down a wood fence, burning the back side of another structure, through the yard, to a vehicle. A few minutes into the fire, firefighters heard two explosions from propane tanks which helped fuel the fire. Crews were able to contain the fire to one side of the duplex. There is limited water damage on the other side. There were no injuries. Crews rescued a lizard, but a cat is still missing. The people inside the duplex were alerted by a neighbor who saw the fire, and ran to knock on the door to get them out. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Views from the 24 Fire outside Fort Carson, now over 1,126 acres. The fire is making a run this afternoon. “Highway 115 remains clear and the fire made a significant run to the east and north. Air resources are working along the west flank of the fire per incident command. High winds and hot, dry temperatures have increased the fire’s activity, with the fire now standing at approximately 1,126 acres and 0% containment. There are currently 125 firefighters from local, state, and federal partners on the ground” Thanks to the subscriber who shared these views of operations on the ground.

Now, multiple structures are on fire in Studio City. This is totally separate from the Palisades and is on the other side of town. This is also about 7 miles away from the part of Hollywood with the fire. The LA Fire Department is on the scene. Not in the video, the front of the bigger house just collapsed sending embers up the hill.

Followers, thanks for all the DMs and well wishes. We were prepared to evacuate last night in West LA/Santa Monica but the wind shifted so it stayed up on the ridge by Mandeville Canyon and westridge. This picture is from this morning when I drove around it's completely apocalyptic and very very smoky in Santa Monica. The video is from Mandeville Canyon by westridge as the fire line is on that ridge where I believe the fire trail is going all the way to the Nike missile base. Will give everybody an update from there but so far the winds are strong and all over the place. All of our clients lost their homes in the Palisades. Complete apocalyptic conditions in LAC now, with about 5 fires burning out of control. Wherever you are, be safe and will continue to update later today. #PalisadeFire #PalisadesWildfire #socal #CAwx #lawind #santamonicafire
