BREAKING: Netanyahu says Israel is establishing a new military corridor across Gaza—“the second Philadelphi”—declaring that it is “now dividing the Strip.” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu named it the Morag Corridor, after the former Israeli settlement between Rafah and Khan Younis. The corridor is expected to run between the two cities in southern Gaza. “We are increasing the pressure step by step, so that they will give us our hostages. And the more they do not give, the more the pressure will increase until they do,” Netanyahu said in a statement Wednesday.

The Flotilla 13 elite unit was deployed to the area surrounding the Gaza security fence in a joint effort to regain control of the Sufa military post on October 7th. ⭕️ IDF troops began targeted ground activities in central and southern Gaza, over the past day, in order to expand the security zone and to create a partial buffer between northern and southern Gaza. As part of the ground activities, the troops expanded their control further to the center of the Netzarim Corridor. Simultaneously, it was decided that the Golani Brigade would be stationed in the Southern Command area and remain ready for operations in Gaza. The IDF will continue to operate against terrorist organizations in Gaza to protect the citizens of the State of Israel.

Convoys of the Israeli-backed "Popular Forces" Palestinian armed group are seen patrolling parts of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, including along the Philidelphi Corridor near Israeli military bases. This confirms their continues presence well outside of their controlled zones, under the protection of the IDF. The Popular Forces has ~500-700 Palestinian fighters, and is funded by Israel to help combat Hamas and other Pro-Hamas armed groups. They operate in both southern and northern Gaza.
