The iPhone Duo’s hinge is so well engineered that even under harsh sunlight, you can barely spot the crease. Samsung has been making foldables for years and still treats a giant crease like its parts of Galaxy Experience 💀

This is a real world test conducted under intense sunlight.

So, in just a few days, we've gone from "absolutely no crease" to "barely spot it." Let's wait a month and see...

Yeah it’s so good that not only can’t you see the crease but you can’t even see the content in the screen 😂

Cool if you don't need to see what's on the screen but yeah, you can barely see it. 😂

It's using an anti reflective coating on the screen therefore making the crease not visible in the sunlight but the crease is still visible in other lighting situations, besides Samsung built the screen 😉

The matte screen is worst than the crease

Yeah, you can't see the crease. Or anything that the phone is showing. Jesus christ, that's the thing that sucks about a matte screen, diffusion of sunlight means you can't see a goddamn thing on your phone.

They used a matte finish so the screen doesn’t look as glossy, just to hide the crease. Another problem — the more precise something is, the more you have to think about repairs later. What if you drop it? Or what if it lands right on that damn hinge?

That's why in my opinion, AppleCare+ is important for Duos.

No no no, gripping it tighter would work better than anything. But then it loses the whole point of being a tool — you end up becoming a tool that has to look after the phone.

Well, samsung made that display lol 😂. Apple pays Samsung $250 for every iPhone Duo sold 🤣

So, why didn't they use it on their own $1800 phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 8?

Passport style - copied Flex mode- copied In-word style fold- copied Add glass effect while folding and unfolding and change the dock to right side- biggest innovation

Then why didn't they use the same screen on their 2000$ Z fold8 or Z fold8 ultra

That matte screen made the crease and the content invisible under sunlight

On the iPhone, the crease is less noticeable due to the matte screen.

Dude it’s the mat layer on the screen. Nothing more. It’s a design choice. Stop pretending like Apple has invented some new tech to solve the crease issue. You Apple glazers are truly pathetic.

Its called an anti reflective coating, it has been on steam deck for years. Apple has not reinvented the wheel unfortunately, Samsung fold 8 has the same coating and has the same amount of crease. People are just sheep and like to consume and get overcharged

The hinge has nothing to do with the creases visibility. It's all the matt plastic

I'm using the z fold 8 right now. There's no crease when you hold it right in front of you

I'm not sure if you realize this, but under direct sunlight it looks like that inner display is completely invisible.

If you make this one tweak to your offense I think you’ll score more goals! The vast majority of offenses have a crease guy mirroring the dodge, popping behind the dodger when he takes the alley, and cycling under when he dodges topside. I love mirrors, they’re a great action, but the problem with mirrors is that the slider can oftentimes hedge and crowd the dodger, and recover back to their guy. This problem is magnified when the on-ball defender picks up soft, there’s even less space for the dodger. Also mirroring every time is predictable! Why would you want the defense to know exactly where your crease guy is going? A simple adjustment that every offense should have in the mix is to have your crease guy change it up and “Float” out to the back side, leaving his hedging crease sliding defender guarding nobody and making the recovery much more difficult. And when you float the crease out, you can have another midfielder “Follow” across the top to be the outlet behind the ball and get into a shooting spot. As the coach, you don’t have to call out these looks from the sideline, simply let your crease guy mix it up on his own, sometimes he can mirror the dodge, and other times he can float out the back. Then have the crease guy communicate to the other mid to follow or float. The recovery for these two looks is very different and this variability will make your offense much harder to guard! Furthermore, because the recovery is so much more challenging, re-dodge spacing when the crease floats out is better. I guarantee you will love this look!

TM Roh, please take some time and actually use a Galaxy Z Fold 8. Let me explain why I’m saying this. This may seem like a tiny issue. It’s just an animation when opening and closing an album in Gallery. But what bothers me is what this tiny detail reveals: just how little Samsung’s software team seems to care about these parts of the user experience. I seriously wonder whether some of the executives responsible for this product, including TM Roh, have ever actually used the Galaxy Z Fold 8 as their primary phone. Because this problem is ridiculously easy to notice. You don’t need days of testing. Use the Z Fold 8 on its inner display for half an hour, open Gallery, tap an album cover, then go back. You’ll immediately see it: there is basically no proper transition animation. The interface simply switches from one screen to another. I have three levels of expectations for system animations: 1. Does an animation exist? 2. Does it look good? 3. Does it have originality and its own visual identity? If the animation looks bad, I can criticize the aesthetics. If it looks ordinary, I can say it lacks polish. But Samsung hasn’t even passed Level 1. And that becomes even more ridiculous when you compare it with other Android foldables. Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z TriFold, OPPO Find N6, Xiaomi 18 Fold. They are all Android foldables dealing with the same basic challenges of large screens, multitasking and UI transitions. So why can OPPO do it? Why can Xiaomi do it? Why does Samsung continue to ignore something this basic, even on a foldable costing thousands of dollars? Is Samsung incapable of making these animations? Of course they can. They simply don’t seem to consider them important enough. Leave it unfinished and someone will defend Samsung anyway. Make the experience crude and someone will say, “It doesn’t affect functionality.” Sell the phone for $2,000 and people will still buy it. Over time, why would Samsung feel any urgency to polish these details? The feature works. Good enough. Animations? Whatever. Details? Whatever. Aesthetics? Whatever. Those little things users see, touch and feel hundreds of times every day? Apparently, whatever. But this is 2026. OPPO and Xiaomi are already putting serious effort into animation logic, visual continuity, interaction feedback and their own software aesthetics. If Samsung continues treating “the feature works” as the finish line, the gap in software experience will only become more obvious. And now the iPhone Duo has arrived. Samsung no longer gets to assume that people looking for a premium foldable will eventually come back to Galaxy because there is no serious alternative. That advantage cannot last forever. What makes this even more unfortunate is Samsung’s enormous influence on the Android market outside China. For many people, Galaxy is their primary window into high-end Android. When crude interactions like this remain unchanged for years, people gradually get used to them. They start thinking this is simply what Android is supposed to feel like, and that animation, visual continuity and software aesthetics don’t really matter. And many of the people who couldn’t tolerate it may have already moved to the iPhone. That is exactly why I keep talking about these seemingly “tiny” problems. User experience is built from hundreds of tiny details like these. So if you own a Galaxy Z Fold 8, try this right now. Unfold it. Open Gallery on the inner display. Tap an album cover. Then go back. Look at it yourself. Is this really the software experience you expect from a nearly $2,000 flagship foldable in 2026? Stop rationalizing every problem Samsung leaves unfinished. The more users defend every missing detail, the less reason Samsung has to improve it. It’s your money. You bought a flagship. You have every right to expect Samsung to get the basics right.
