This should have NEVER been a degree program. This is the college scam. This shit used to be a high school elective

Want to know WHY?!? It’s because illegals have swarmed the restaurant industry, and will work for ridiculously low wages. The solution? DEPORT DEPORT DEPORT!!! Then VIOLA! Restaurant jobs are plentiful again! And housing is accessible again, too, because all those migrant restaurant workers are living in the homes people like you need!

I’m sorry, you spent money to go get a degree in baking and you are surprised you cannot find a job making decent money??? This is the American lie sold to millions. Any rational person would have told her to go straight into her career after high school. That experience would be more important than education in the baking industry. Society said otherwise. Now she sits with nothing to show for doing everything “correctly.” Can I blame her for being upset? Not really. should we have known this was going to happen? Probably.

She should join the military in food services. She will work in her degree field, her student loans will get paid off. She can get experience in managing kitchens. She gets paid a living wage while doing it. When she is done with her first contract, she will no longer needs to save up for a down payment on a house.

Maybe you should’ve done some research into how much an employer would pay for someone with a degree like this.

Do you think it has something to do with her mental state?

It took me YEARS of working before I made $3,000 per month. That is the problem all these kids think that they should be starting out at $30 an hour. They don’t realize that even with a college degree the majority of the time you’re gonna have to start from the bottom.

Your skill set in food is perfect to become a mother and a wife This is what people who develop skills in home ec, in middle school and high school, Did in the past Congratulations you have the education of a high school person Short of building more skills, you’re going to make what a high school person would make Two choices 1 Go build new skills that make you money Or 2 get married and be a wonderful mother and wife and put those home skills to work

We have been screaming from the rooftops for years that most of the University degrees are WORTHLESS. You would have been better served by getting a 15 dollar an hour job in food service 4 years ago. You would have gained experience and moved up in the field.🫤

Why’d she go to school if she wants to be a baker? Can’t you do that without a degree?

Should start a business, if you’re trying to make any money in that field. My wife is a professional baker, and it’s not something you get into based on analytics. You have to love doing it. Luckily, she went private and from home, so she makes a lot more than she did work for anyone. Her own hours, and a VERY loyal customer base that gets her through the winters, when there aren’t any weddings for her.

Can't make more that $15/hr? Could it have anything to do with the fact that food service doesn't require a degree and there are plenty of illegal aliens who will accept the $15/hr? By the way, didn't I see you protesting against ICE?

As a past service manager, if this is how she interviews, I wouldn’t hire her to be around customers. She’s insufferable. Degree or not.

Colleges, for the most part, are run by and staffed with useless parasite nerds scamming taxpayers and kids. We need to let kids sue universities for worthless degrees and discharge student debt through bankruptcy. The worthless degree programs will dry up quickly.

Here’s a hint, take any job you can that will leave you the mornings to start your own bakery & deliver product to customers. Work from home, sell online & farmers markets. Build a list of local clients. When your business is going well enough go full time.

I do feel bad for this kid because she seems to be trying. But all of that research would have been better before selecting that degree.

Then you should have gotten a degree in dishwashing! Blame the college and university and yourself moron because no one else made that decision!!!

Oops. Got a worthless degree. Our colleges and universities are cranking out a ton of people with worthless degrees. The education system is broken.

As much as you dig on her for a bad decision in college. You’re missing the point. She should be in front of the line for a good service role given our framework Aside from that, it’s a fucking serving job. Lots of people can tell you how low class work..

She's a victim of the college scam & a fake economy. She's angry b/c she doesn't know what to do. And she's far from alone. Most people are at a loss as to what to do in this economy. Even if your job/skill pays now, don't gloat. The clock is ticking down for you too.

After watching and listening to you bitch for 4 mins I can fully understand why you can’t get a job paying what you want. You are annoying as fuck

The flood of illegal workers, H-B1 abuse & loss of manufacturing pulled everyone’s wages down. It is going to take time for things to recover. In the meantime the older generation is going to have to help. My sons are living at home. They pay rent & we share the burdens.

What a spoiled bratt. Doesn’t she know most Americans would die to be in her situation. Not only does she have her “parents” as an option, but her aunt too. Shes dying to be a victim.

Imagine what it will be like when you don’t have to complete with illegal im migrants for an industry that’s saturated with them. Cheap illegal labor always results in the average person making less. It’s not rocket science.

That's because the illegal immigrants. took your job.

If you’re limiting jobs to those within 20 miles or apartments in nice areas, you’re not applying to jobs or housing. You’re interviewing them to see if they’re worthy of you. These people are so spoiled and expect everything. We had to go through it when we were younger. 😂

"I don't want my aunt paying for my food" - yet making the taxpayer pay for your food is cool? How long before they realize that their desire for high minimum wage & welfare is what's inflating the economy & making housing & everything else unaffordable?

Then we agree now that higher education outside of the STEM fields is a scam?

There’s only proves one thing 22 year olds in 2025 are idiots

Why would she think a doughnut cookie or cake BAKER should A) need a college degree and B) should be paid anything exorbitant at all. Like head “baker” what 60k after working your way up n through the company after 20 years, fine. But straight outta college ya 15-17 sounds EXACTLY right. From 18-26 PBJ, SPAGHETTI, CEREAL were staples. Driving a 20-25 yr old car. One room apartment. One tv. No frills. Nothing matched. THATS how you start. You don’t get new cars houses clothes. You don’t get vacations new clothes new shoes. You DO NOT get what it took your parents lifetime to accomplish RIGHT OUTBOF COLLEGE. GFYS

"There will always be jobs in food service."

This is sad. It would seem, unless your degree is in the STEM field, it is not worth the time or tuition. We need to get the word out that the rules of the game have changed. Stop paying these education institutions. Just an opinion from someone with limited information.

If you made $3000 last month, and are single, why are you applying for SNAP benefits ??

She should go on financial audit. @sircalebhammer I bet she wasted most of the $3000 she said she made that month.

Start baking goods then sell to friends and family, once this takes off you can save money and invest in your own business. Then you can not only provide for yourself but perhaps even provide job opportunities for people!
