Hypothetically, what if they extend their term to 50 years..and vote in every 50 years?

That is not a solution. They must be held accountable. Out of three powers, they’re the ones who doesn’t require any qualifications. Hence they’re the most dangerous people.

How can you justify not electing them at their next election as a solution?. Majlis can allow other religions practice in Maldives and all we have to do is kick them out at next election? Wow

So, if the Majlis can do anything they want, and if, "in a democracy, no one can stop the Majlis", does that mean if the Majlis decides to assume executive power and run the country, you, @AndrewAdhurey, could become both the country's president and the speaker of the parliament, since Majilis can do anything they want? And if the Majlis decides to take over the functions of the courts and judiciary, could you, @AndrewAdhurey also become Chief Justice and the speaker of the parliament? Or @AndrewAdhurey do you want yourself holding all three positions—executive, legislative, and judicial— because the Majlis can do whatever it wants?

In democracy Majlis can do anything. Under Islamic Shariah Majlis can’t do anything. And not electing those corrupt politicians in the next election is not what common Dhivehin deserves.

No they can't do anything against the Islamic Law.

@ibramandhu Majlieehun majlis memberun akee dhaureh nei bayakah hadhai qaanoon eh faaskofiyyaa thiya bunaa dhen anna inthihaab eh huonnaane

Today, the government is banning MPs from switching parties using their supermajority. Tomorrow? They’ll ban opposition parties. Next? Extend their rule forever! This is how dictatorships are made, step by step!

dhen onna vote vee noannaane hen hadheema yo?
