@realvegaslocals @micsolana this story is so incredible. Hackers: “Give us millions or else!” Caesar’s (mgmt is new to vegas) “Omg, ok!” MGM: (prob still mob owned) “Fuuuuck youuuuuu!” (Closes down 19 casinos and is currently writing down reservations and bills on bar napkins)

@realvegaslocals Same thing happened at a casino I worked at few years ago. They never paid. All the employees personal data was leaked online. Big respect to Ceasers palace for respecting the privacy of the people who gamble there. MGM knows it would cost less to just fix everything.

@realvegaslocals Who do they always depict hackers as wearing hoodies? I think thats stereotyping

@realvegaslocals $15 million is whopping? That’s like 2 hours of revenue in the high limit room.

@realvegaslocals Should they pay? It's hard to say. Appeasement is a policy that rarely works in the long run. In this case paying the ransom would appease the hackers but what about the next group that comes along. It's sort of like negotiating with terrorists. It's a tough decision either way.
