Magic123: One Image to High-Quality 3D Object Generation Using Both 2D and 3D Diffusion Priors paper page: present Magic123, a two-stage coarse-to-fine approach for high-quality, textured 3D meshes generation from a single unposed image in the wild using both2D and 3D priors. In the first stage, we optimize a neural radiance field to produce a coarse geometry. In the second stage, we adopt a memory-efficient differentiable mesh representation to yield a high-resolution mesh with a visually appealing texture. In both stages, the 3D content is learned through reference view supervision and novel views guided by a combination of 2D and 3D diffusion priors. We introduce a single trade-off parameter between the 2D and 3D priors to control exploration (more imaginative) and exploitation (more precise) of the generated geometry. Additionally, we employ textual inversion and monocular depth regularization to encourage consistent appearances across views and to prevent degenerate solutions, respectively. Magic123 demonstrates a significant improvement over previous image-to-3D techniques, as validated through extensive experiments on synthetic benchmarks and diverse real-world images.

(Indeed, you can convert any 2D image to 3D) Please note that, for now, you'll need to manually set a depth map for your image in order to view its correct 3D version. (You can use to generate the depth map) But... stay tuned! We'll soon be offering instant 3D conversion for any image. *This is just an experimental version, and any feedback or videos of your results would be really interesting to see!

📢 OneCanvas: 3D Scene Understanding via Panoramic Reprojection We extract features from video frames and reproject them into one occlusion-free view of the whole scene that a 2D VLM reads just like a normal image. We can center this view on any viewpoint, including an agent's own pose for situated reasoning. The same projection lets us create spatial training tasks with no human annotation, solvable only by reasoning over the 3D positions of real object features placed on an otherwise empty canvas. The result is a stock 2D VLM that reasons in 3D, setting a new state of the art across spatial benchmarks at far less compute. 🌐 ▶️ Great work by Bartłomiej Baranowski & Dave Zhenyu Chen

There's a trend going on where doctors are recording themselves on the phones with other doctors who work for insurance companies (Medical Consultants) debating on why a medication, procedure, or test has been denied. And some of these are WILD. This one, the insurance is denying a CT scan of a kindergartener because they want an x-ray first, even though it was explained that an x-ray wouldn't provide any detailed information. The consultant also refers to the growth on the kids head as a "bump" when it's actually a mass.

Ever since the opening scene, when we showed the story of the butterflies, we'd been subtly weaving EmiBonnie symbolism into the various songs. Once we reached this song, it was like the song lyrics. 'If the world was ending I'd wanna be next to you'. If the world was ending, we wanted the final image to be beautiful. If we were going to die with a smile, we wanted them to be side by side, drifting away together, enveloped by butterflies until everything faded into darkness. Romantic, isn't it~? But... hold up, your image of this song might change~ Let me tell you... that day in the meeting room when we discussed the songs, we were very serious and focused. We came up with a lot of songs and drafted an initial playlist that was pretty beautiful, but when we got to "Die with a smile", a song that was going to be a highlight, a song that would be a beautiful memory for everyone, Bonnie said... "For this song, P'Mi can be (Lady) Gaga. I'll... be Bruno. I can put on a moustache!!!" That was it... my romantic vision almost had a moustache.

When are we going to organise a day of rage in our continent, march to the US and French Embassy, make them realise we are no longer the African of 1966 or the African of 2011. When are we going to see the attack on Traore, not just an attack on Burkina Faso but an attack on the entire African continent and people, and collectively fight it as a unit.
