As promised ☔☔

CARRYING ALL THE HUMAN & DOG URINE & FECES. CARRYING ALL THE STREET VENDOR GREASE AND WASTE....STRAIGHT INTO THE NOW TOXIC LOST ANGELES BEACHES.

So weird to see water in LA River 🫠

As a reminder, flood channels were designed to move water away quickly. Worst place for people and animals to swim in. That's why they are fenced off.

Actual whitecaps--amazing!

This unusual rain at this time of year is such a blessing for the upcoming fire season.

Imagine all of the different kinds of bacteria, grime and filth in that thing.

Might be some homeless there.
For anyone wondering, this shot is looking East from the Whitsett Ave. bridge in Studio City. This is just a couple miles downstream from the Sepulveda Dam, which acts as both debris-removal and flow control—hence the relatively narrow concrete box channel inside an earthen trapezoidal channel. The box channel is sized to contain the max gated outflow from the dam (and the surrounding-area runoff), while the trapezoidal channel is sized to handle a worst-case flood that overtops the dam (and the dam's overflow system even has automatic gates to regulate that). You may have seen the Sepulveda Dam in any of dozens of films, most notably in the end credits of "Buckaroo Banzai".

None being reclaimed for fire assistance or other such uses. CA has a water problem - yet it refuses to develop needed infrastructure for reclaiming and refining storm water or building desalination facilities. Where do you think CA will be in 50 years without these programs?

How is this considered a river?

I remember kids getting swept away in the 90s.

How much poop and pee is in that water?

All the way to the sea

There she is.

I see homeless

New bacteria flowing directly into the ocean.

@Grok, isn’t that exactly where they filmed T2?

The agua must flow!

Don't go in the ocean for the next week

Little cleaning from Mother Nature

I like how you type and talk the same. Like I read this in your voice.

it’d be crazy if it was always this full

@hearinladotcom

@OC_Scanner

Straight to the ocean that people will swim in tomorrow on Labor Day 🤢

Hipster effluvia on its way to the Pacific. Simple beauty.

It was worse a couple years ago

Might be a ton of rain this winter 💪💪

Should be the L.A. Drain .

Behind the Brady house‼️
@RealRonHoward - #Río 💦

That’s a LOT of water! That’s a whole lot deeper than it appears.

Flushing the stench that is LA
