Seduction here means empathy, being able to understand another person's state of mind. Perhaps it is just me, but this word usage has negative connotations which @RobertGreene does appear to have intended.

Attraction has deep evolutionary roots. Research by Berridge (2009) shows dopamine isn't about pleasure but 'wanting' - the brain's reward system evolved to drive pursuit behavior long before conscious seduction strategies existed.
