the most unskippable intro in video games

I’m physically incapable of hearing this intro and not immediately thinking of Maximilian Dood lmao

watching him recently reminded me of it

Song so good I can’t help but associate it with one man.

Growing up in the 90s, this and the Wild Arms intro were unskippable in our household.

so good!

Thank you Maximilian Dood for keeping this song alive for all these years and spreading it to the masses so it can never be forgotten.

Hold my beer.

Wait, this is an actual intro? I legit I thought it was Maximilian Dood's intro lmao

BANDAI NAMCO, BRING BACK SOUL CALIBUR AND MY LIFE IS YOURS

I can’t tell you how nostalgic this is for me. I love Siegfried. I love that each character has alternate endings and you can stop him from becoming nightmare. And I love naked sophitia in that intro.

i was obsessed with siegfried’s story too man

taki my love

Lmao! I won’t go into what’s cool about her 🍋 but her archetype is so fun, the opposite of Siegfried. I always loved that they brought both designs for him forward too for other games. It’s such a cool series. Loved the ring outs and breaking your opponents weapons too!

This isn’t the Tekken 2 intro

Counter argument.

For me it’s this one

I have to watch in full each time no matter what.

the temple exploding right on the beat 😭👌

This was crazy back in the days

@Kayane Haven’t watched this in 20+ years and instantly remembered every word to the song and now I’m crying on the train 🥹

eeeh no

@JohnnyChugs Transcending history and the world, a tale of souls and swords, eternally retold.

If you go by amount of time spent holding my attention, Soul Calibur II for the Sega Dreamcast is technically my father

What modern game has an intro this epic? None.

What a throwback

I mean...

For me it would be this one, which is timely #LegacyOfKainDefianceRemastered

errmmmmm ☝️🤓

I’m not really good at fighting games, but this blew my eleven year old mind

For me it’s the intro for Tench Wrath of Heaven.

Hard agree, Gene! ❤️

Hell yes!

Shine On

I don't have a clue why, but as great as this intro is, the music that plays in the background always remind me of Images' Les Démons de Minuit (or Love Emotion) only with a slightly different melodies and some celtic influences and instrumentations.

@StarrgileF That's not Kingdom Hearts 1 or 2

First that comes to mind for me is FF8 or Chrono Cross

Chrono Cross. Scars of Time is one of the best scores composed for games

Still get goosebumps to this day.
