The Myles Garrett contract “modification” doesn’t make sense UNLESS they’re planning to shop him to the highest bidder. There are 5 or 6 teams that would be obvious suitors. But perhaps only 1 or 2 that could rival a package the Cowboys could put together. NONE if we’re talking... show more

“Dallas is a team that would interest those guys.” If Connor McDavid or Auston Matthews were to leave their current teams, Emily Kaplan believes the Dallas Stars are a team that could be on both players’ radars.

“Is there any effect if someone refuses to put money or a nail inside a mortar while travelling?” —Man questions the practice after a bus driver refused to allow him to travel with a mortar from the East to Lagos unless he put money or a nail inside it, claiming that failing to do so could cause trouble.

“He (Jimmy Haslem) didn’t say this directly but the implication is another 1st round pick in 2026. If that’s the desire, yeah it has to happen or at least be agreed too by draft night…. If they want a ‘26 draft pick it has to be agreed to by Tuesday night but honestly if they’re looking at what’s on the table and say ‘you know what, these picks in ‘26 that we could get, nah. We’re gonna look to ‘27 or ‘28 in the future’ if that’s the case, this could drag on” — Jim Owczarski on Giannis (Via SiriusXM NBA Radio)

Weingarten: It’s really only the Congress that can abolish the Department of Education. So, what the president can do is make government basically ineffective—not work—by a thousand cuts. And that’s what they’re doing. So, if you essentially fire the entire staff, or 80% of the staff, of Social Security, and somebody needs to get a Social Security card, they’re not going to be able to get it in a timely way. If you fire everybody who’s doing hurricane watch, you’re not going to have hurricane watch… The same is true in terms of education. If you fire everybody, or you make it unfeasible for it to work, then none of the laws that are supposed to be effectuated by the department will work. So, if Title I is supposed to go to a high school in Staten Island, and they’re supposed to get $5 million that goes there, and all of a sudden it doesn’t, and they don’t have the money, then that means the programs go away. That means the reading programs, the computer programs, the after-school programs—all the programs that are funded by Title I, and every schoolteacher in America understands what that means—they go away. The same goes for the programs for kids with disabilities under IDEA. If a school system, or a school—because these things go directly to schools—if the funding goes away, a kid doesn’t get physical therapy or occupational therapy

Gupta: Could I see his doctor say, “Hey, we’re worried about his neurologic status,” or that they’re seeing something they’re not being clear about with the public, and that prompting MRIs at some every-so-often cadence? Yeah, that would make sense. That would actually be entirely appropriate to do. And that’s a secondary diagnostic — a secondary screening tool. If there’s early detection of something, that would make sense: that he is high-risk for something, or they already know he has a condition, maybe a neurologic issue, and they’re monitoring it. That would make complete sense.

It would make a lot of sense for the Canucks and Sharks to make a trade, but NHL teams very rarely trade up or down in the top 10 of the draft. What would you be willing to attach to the 3rd overall pick to move up to #2? Presented by | Vancouver Canadians #AtTheNat #VanCanadians

The Yankees should save Francisco Lindor from the Mets so he can finally be appreciated. There's a slim chance it happens, but it would be interesting to see what that trade would even look like. Lindor is 32 and will make $32 million per year through the 2031 season. That's a boatload of money, and this would likely be a salary dump. The only thing that makes me think the Yankees would even have a shot is that the few teams that might conceivably take on that salary are in the NL—no shot they send him to the Dodgers or Phillies. The Padres probably don't want another bloated contract either. The Yankees are the team that can afford him, even if Hal wants you to think his team is a mom-and-pop shop. More important than that, though, he'd be out of the National League.

Domonique Foxworth Thinks Shedeur Sanders Should Be The Starter: “Shedeur Sanders should start for the Browns and it shouldn’t be Deshaun Watson. Like rewatching that game or at least rewatching Deshaun Watson snaps over and over again, I didn’t see something that I felt like it’s gonna make this team a real competitor. Like it doesn’t make sense to me to put Deshaun Watson out there. There is little to no chance that Deshaun Watson is the future in Cleveland. The future in Cleveland is either Shedeur Sanders or it’s going to be in the draft. You don’t find out if Shedeur Sanders is the future or not unless you put him out on the field. He’s gonna be willing to take risk, take shots down the field, to try to earn this job, and I don’t see that out of Deshaun Watson.”

.David Deutsch: Everyone can and should be a scientist, because being a scientist just means wanting to understand the world and using the only method of doing so that works, namely, to be puzzled, to be mistaken, to guess how one might be mistaken and how the grand authorities who can't imagine that they could be mistaken often are, and not to be satisfied with bad explanations, one's own or anyone's, that is, explanations that could have otherwise and you'd be none the wiser. That's the critical attitude. It's the only access to reality that we have. Use it. It's fun.

INSANE 🚨 The IRS has 1,400 employees who’s job it is to hand out laptops and cell phones Elon Musk “Why would you have 1,400 people whose only job it is to give out a laptop and a phone?” “The whole IRS could be handled once a month. So that doesn't make any sense.” “if each of those IRS officers or employees provisioned 2 employees per day, you could provision the entire IRS in a little more than a month. So 12 times a year. Doesn't make any sense.”

Chris Haynes says Grizzlies are still listening to teams but not in a rush to trade Ja Morant: "They are canvasing the market listening to teams. I was told teams have been notified that if the Grizzlies feel if there isn't a package that suits their interest, they are comfortable keeping Ja past the trade deadline. We take Ja Morant by his word, he wants to be there. I think that would be something if ultimately they don't get what they want in the next couple of weeks they'll probably re access in the summer. It's been explained to me its not something urgent and they need to get off him by any means necessary"

Dear Everyone who is celebrating Trump likely taking Truth Social public, This is the worst possible thing that could happen for both America and shareholders. Why? Because Trump would potentially become the majority share holder of the stock. This means that every foreign government could control Trump’s net worth. If he becomes President again, that means that any foreign government could short the stock to harm Trump personally, or massively buy the stock to help him. The potential for corruption would be ridiculous. If Trump were to divest upon winning the election, he would likely single-handedly crash the stock, and investors would lose hugely. This move is terrible. Everyone should be outraged, but Republicans seem to be celebrating.

Adam Schefter on the Brandon Aiyuk situation: “I know it says they are planning to release him, but I would like to add on that they’re not planning to release him anytime soon. They essentially have no guaranteed money left on his contract, so they can hold onto him for the time being… I think they will be holding onto him to see if there’s any trade value at all. Washington does make a lot of sense. He played with Jayden Daniels in college. They’re very close. I’m sure Jayden would love to play again with Brandon Aiyuk, but I don’t get the sense that the 49ers are in any rush to move on from Brandon Aiyuk even though we know eventually they will.”

Elon Musk: The woke mind virus is opposed to fairness and common sense. “I'm appealing to common sense and fairness. Which is that we should make our decisions based on merit. If somebody is talented and hard-working, that should be the only means of advancement. There should not be discrimination on the basis of sex or religion or any race or anything else. A lot of the woke stuff is actually super racist. It's super sexist. And it's often anti-religion, but only anti-Christian. Why only anti-Christian? That's unfair. So this is why, again, my message is to the reasonable middle. You want a world where there is fairness and common sense and you advance as a function of how hard you work and your talent and your integrity. That should be all that matters. And the woke mind virus as I call it is against all of that. It's wrong.” From: Conversation with Tommy Robinson, September 13, 2025

1. Smear frames replicate real life motion blur that happens in cameras and our eyes. So be careful to only use them when a movement is too fast to follow. That usually means an object is moving a large distance in 1 to 2 frames. A basic rule is that the audience should have trouble telling if you used a smear or not. (But don’t worry they will feel it in the smoothness of motion) 2. Old looney tunes cartoons are great to reference when practicing smears as those animators really pushed the limits of what could work :) 3. Anticipation and follow through are the secret to making smears effective. They allow audiences to make sense of what happened during a quick motion.

Serious situation - if you saw someone fleeing a car on the freeway and there is a clear language barrier between you both, would you still offer assistance? This could be a life or death moment and that barrier should never stop you from doing the right thing. 911 was called but think about how terrifying that must have been for her not knowing who to trust or where to turn. Sometimes being human is the only language that matters. What would you do?

Steve Yzerman provides an update on Dylan Larkin's trade request: "I will be deliberately brief here. Shortly after the season, I received a phone call from Dylan Larkin's agent informing me that Dylan would like to be traded. A week or so after that, Dylan's agent followed up with a short list of teams that Dylan would consider waiving his no-trade clause to go to. Having said that, Dylan has five years remaining on his contract. My job as the manager of the Detroit Red Wings is always to do what is in the best interest of the Detroit Red Wings, and I will act accordingly to that. So I cannot make any guarantees, and I did not make any guarantees, that that request could or would be met. There is certainly a lot of uncertainty around that. So, for the time being, I can confirm that yes, that request was made. I think I will be in a position to maybe answer more questions and be more specific in the future. Today, I would just like to leave it at that." #LGRW
