Local legend says that the rocks were once three real whales that lived peacefully in the nearby Mekong River. They were deeply angered and saddened by the human destruction of the river and its natural inhabitants, so the whales decided to leave the water. As they entered into the forest, they transformed into stone as a reminder to humanity.

The whale rocks are just tough sandstone that held up for over 120 million years. Softer mud and silt around them got worn away by rain and weather over the millions of years, leaving these shapes standing. Nothing mysterious—just ordinary erosion doing its thing.

At first I thought i was looking at 3 submarines stocked in the middle of the forest. Nature has a way of making us confuse

I’m hungry and I thought these were sweet potatoes

It's the fact they're all uniform in shape and contouring. If they're not some fantastical petrified whale creature, the next most logical is that they were sculptures of whale creatures, created by quite advanced civilisation.

The folktale is more believable than the scientific explanation of the formation of these rocks cos how aren’t these real whales?? 😂

I love seeing community notes like the one on this post as if they already know everything about historical sites like this. Same mindset that thought Galileo belonged in a guillotine instead of in science books. There’s zero doubt this is still a mystery. @EthicalSkeptic

Would love to see a Lidar image of these.

Natural formation my ass lol

Das sind Versteinerte Sandwürmer vom "Dune' Planeten, die Herzog Leto Atreides im Mesozoikum auf die Erde mitgenommen hat!

Ancient Aliens

Looks like a normal stone formation. Said no one ever.

The erosion explanation makes total sense but from the drone shots it really does look like a mother whale with two calves. Nature doing a Rorschach test

Central Pennsylvania has a rock formation that is known as the Whaleback . It is much the same as in the photo except not as polished It is now a tourist attraction and often studied by geology departments of many universities .

Dino-Poop? Perhaps.

Lidar might be helpful

Noah’s flood approx.4000 yrs ago.

sum ting wong

บึงสามวาฬ

Looks like a pod of whales

I have been there and it was INCREDIBLE!!!!

@grok did anybody try to scan this area with a Lidar?

Tf am I looking at, a calcified aborted celestial??

Another mystery in Mpumalanga/ South Africa..Titan's Footprint 😲

imagine standing on that cliff and realizing the ground you walk on used to be an ocean floor. the scale of time alone is enough to make you dizzy.

It's a Space Ship

Probably has something to do with the Nephilim

Aliens used them to form different curvature panels from sheets of pure titanium for their spacecraft. Crazy stuff.

The only thing which can justify such shapes is the Noah’s floods and it’s effect on rock formations through weathering

Esas son naves “Zentraedi”

@grok dame un resumen en español del video
