They spared him so he could tell Jon that he was the heir to the iron throne and was resurrected for absolutely no reason

They never wanted to be slowed down by the fattest zombie who wouldn’t be able to yield any weapon. They thought he would be a baggage!

I wish I could watch Game of Thrones for the first time again

People who haven't watched Game of Thrones will never understand what this scene did to us

Sam actually had a ring of invisibility in its nasty pocketses

Every time I'm reminded of the potential of this series I get annoyed of how it was squandered cause the showrunners wanted to make a fucking Star Wars movie

They were on their way to the chain factory which manufactured the chain later used to take up a dragon from the bottom of a lake.

They knew buddy was on the spectrum.
The real reason?

Still a mystery why the White Walkers did this too…

He needs to go to SpecSaver.

Greatest TV show ever 🙌 Even Breaking Bad can't match the High of Game Of Thrones

Greatest series in recent decades

According to Johnathan Freeman, the director of photography, the scene was filmed to imply that the White saw him, but he was actually hidden and the White didn't see him. It's not a mystery.. There's a great fan theory that this scene mirrors season one episode one opening scene where the Whites killed two members of the nights watch and let the third one live so he could go and spread fear of them, and that's what they did here with Sam. But, that's not what's going on here.

It's been 5 years since the final season of Game of Thrones premiered.

🫣

His soul was probably pure enough that they didn’t recognize him as human

This scene will forever be etched in our memories

Real GOT watchers know the walkers spared sam so he could spread fear

It wasn't unique. They did the same thing in S1E1 with the ranger that Ned executed later in the episode.

Ned Stark’s death in Game of Thrones episode “Baelor” flipped the scrip

Even the 2 idiots that wrote this don’t know why

A message to the Living "We are Coming"

That White Walker didn’t spare Sam out of kindness. He was the chosen messenger. Same as Will in the pilot: slaughter everyone, leave one alive to run screaming south with the warning no one will believe. The dead don’t need prisoners. They need panic. That icy stare wasn’t mercy. It was marketing. 🧊 #GameOfThrones

Best scene in the entire movie.

The only way to survive White Walkers.

he was too important to the plot

He was weak , no threat and left as a witness to tell others of their coming.

I'm so upset that we never got to the bottom of the whole white walker thing! I mean.. whyd they take the male babies?? Huh?? Who are they exactly? What do they want??

@grok why did the White Walkers spare Sam?

@goalpatrol18 It isn’t really, in their eyes he was the person to tell the story of what happened to his own people,

They always left one survivor to tell what’s coming next

The White Walk.spared Sam because they likely saw him as a useful messenger to spread fear and inform the Night’s Watch about the existence and magnitude of their undead army. This tactic aligns with their actions earlier in the series when a WW spared a man to deliver a warning
