The new documentary American Coup PBS, co-directed by Brad Lichtenstein and yoruba richen, tells the little-known story of a deadly race massacre and carefully orchestrated insurrection in North Carolina’s largest city in 1898 –

@bradleylbar @redrubes14 And I grew up near there and never heard of this. But my God I heard story after story about the Confederacy.

@bradleylbar @redrubes14 I only learned about this when I attended UNCG. Not in any of my history classes, but when I was working with a local author/publisher on a reference book on North Carolina history. I realized way back then that the history we're not taught in schools is a travesty.
