The Nintendo GameCube controller might be advertised to only work with the NSO app, but it is compatible with other software on Nintendo Switch 2. How functional, depends on whether the game requires the use of the Minus button or either analog stick needing to be clicked in.

Do you know if the expansion pass is required to purchase it? I’m really interested for smash brothers but don’t think I’d play most of the GameCube library (yet!)

I do know that you need an NSO membership to purchase it, but don’t know if you have to specifically be an Expansion Pack member. They do offer free trials to the membership if that helps.

Does it not have a minus button at all? Any way to map buttons? Do both the analog stick and c stick support button clicks? Motion controls? NFC support?

No minus button, but you can map buttons. No clicking sticks, but it does have motion control. I haven’t tried Amiibo yet.

Someone should set up a mod service to add minus and clicky sticks. I’d pay $100
