this post uses what's happening in video games to explain how the owner class has extracted value from and commits wage theft on the working class. this post is not a defense of Nintendo's price structure. it makes me deeply sad I have to say this.

These comments are so dense. People should be able to afford things that bring them joy. The fact that buying anything new is implausible is a problem. Working your ass of, getting paid pennies, and not being able to afford one thing you’ve been looking forward to is not living

What I love about these discussions is the hilarious logic it exposes. “Oh we’d gladly pay higher prices for American made goods!” …But we draw the line at paying Americans more money.

After the price reveal, and the gaming community attacking me for saying “$120 isn’t a lot of money”, I’ve come to the conclusion that the community is full of brokies who complain way too much. And it sucks because I love video games, But they don’t like me because I’m apparently rich.

If I am a billionaire and I say "a million dollars isn't that much," people don't hate me because I am a billionaire, they hate me because I am dumb and out of touch. Hope that helps.
