If you go back and rewatch the original. The point of the fight was not to show who was better with a lightsaber. Obi-wan delayed death until in sight of Luke. He became a force ghost because he wanted to. The scene shows that he had way more knowledge of the force than Vader

To be fair, it was George Lucas’s first saber fight and those CGI effects weren’t available back in 1977
