Here’s a demo of the upcoming Believe API — going live shortly. The goal of the Believe API is to make it easy for builders to create harmony between their product and coin, no matter what their product does. The first API endpoint lets builders burn their coin programmatically. For example, if Dupe's core KPI is deal searches, they could trigger a coin burn every time users do a deal search. Every action is also verifiable on chain. I can’t wait to see how builders use this.

Deleted again because misinformation 🥲 Gemini 3.5 Flash *is* available on the API. Yet, both the API and the CLI versions are 3x slower than on the IDE! See the video below. → Antigravity IDE: 4 seconds (smooth) → Antigravity CLI: 15 seconds (buggy) So the point holds: they want you to use the visual IDE. Problem is: it is 2026. NOBODY should be using IDEs anymore. Get over it. Let it GO. I’m certainly not launching a VSCode fork to use a model, no matter how great it is. They invent a portal gun, only to lock it behind a taxi subscription, because they completely fail to realize their very product deprecates that other thing they think will make them money? Cursor is a great example of a company that (sadly) is very likely fail because of that mindset. Composer is actually surprisingly good model. They should put all efforts in serving it. Yet, they keep locking it under an old school product that nobody wants to use. And even these who DO use IDEs probably won’t necessarily pick YOUR IDE. And they shouldn’t. I stopped searching for APIs. I just generate them. This tool records the workflow once → reverse-engineers the HTTP calls → and gives me a reusable API. I built a YouTube-download API in under 1 minute. Paste URL → get the full video in 3 seconds. UI is dead. And nobody is ready for what comes next. Agents will use tools they create themselves. Here is exactly how he breaks down the partnership How it was Essentially think of OpenAI having a PaaS business and a SaaS business. The SaaS business is ChatGPT. Their PaaS business is their API. That API is Azure exclusive. The SaaS business, they can run it anywhere. If they want a partner and that partner wants to use a stateless API, then Azure is the place where they can get the stateless API. for even that they'll have to come to Azure. For any custom agreement like that. There are some few exceptions, the US government and so on, that we made, but other than that, they'd have to come to Azure. We went through this in early SaaS. The canonical company for this is Dropbox. They had to rebuild the whole thing and realize the only way we're going to make money is by selling to companies. You literally had OpenAI replaying the Dropbox story, but at like 100x the size. We're going to sell subscriptions to consumers. And they did. They sold a lot, but they didn't sell enough. If they had leaned into advertising immediately, as soon as ChatGPT was a hit, I think they would have a great ad product right now. Charging people money is hard. Giving people things for free is easy."

Sam Altman on what startups get wrong about culture A lot of startups think they have a great culture because there’s free food, everyone does yoga together, and everyone’s super nice to each other. But as Sam explains: “The culture that matters to the best people is one where they can just come and be really productive and be around other great people. If you have a culture which looks good on the surface but somehow rejects super talented people… I think that can be a real problem.” In this interview from 2017, Sam warns that it’s very easy to get entitled employees: “Everyone wants to work exactly how they want. They want to be really rich right now. If the company is not going to get liquid next year, they’re going to go somewhere else.” It may sound crazy to expect employees to join a company and stay there for 5-10 years, but at the best companies, that’s what happens. Sam urges founders to ask themselves: “What do we have to do to get the best people to stay at our company for 5-10 years?” Then go make that your culture. “One of the things that is included in that is wild success for the company and a mission that people care about,” Sam argues. “You need to create an environment where really great people will want to come, work with each other, and not have to deal with the crap that they do at most companies.” Culture isn’t benefits. Sam Altman on the Paul Graham advice that saved Open AI: “Always make an API” Four years into OpenAI, Sam Altman and the team realized that they would have to build a really big company to fund the development of their increasingly capital-intensive foundation models. “We had this model called GPT-3,” Sam recalls. “I was turning up the urgency on the company to try and figure out a product, and we just couldn’t. It was cool, but it wasn’t good enough to make something that worked.” Then Sam remembered a piece of advice from Y Combinator founder Paul Graham that stuck with him: “You should always make an API. No matter what, you should make an API. Good stuff will happen.” Out of ideas for a product, the OpenAI team decided to make GPT-3 available as an API. “Maybe somebody will figure out something to do with it,” Sam thought. A few copywriting applications like Jasper and Copy AI did take off using the GPT-3 API, but OpenAI also noticed interesting behavior that eventually became a sleeper hit: “Some people — not a lot — would just chat with that thing all day,” Sam explains. “It wasn’t very good but there was clear user signal that people wanted to talk to the models.
