It would have been easy to make Dantes personality and jokes some generic front he keeps to hide that he's really sad and brooding his "true self" but no they let the man be well rounded. He's honest, it's all his true self. It's refreshing after so many deconstruction characters

Look at this and compare it to the fight in the show, he's fully in control of her and basically letting her vent.

A little bit after this she takes a swing at Vergil and Dante has to toss her clear to save her life. The stories always make it clear Lady is awesome and all, but she’s nowhere near Dante’s or Vergils level. Even Trish feeds her hands in the anime and has to be stopped by Dante

I highly recommend playing them, they're some of the best action games ever made. People will tell you to skip 2, because its dogshit, and start with 3 since its chronologicaly the first, but I highly recommend playing in release order so you can see how it evolved with time.

That's why I say DMC3 needs a faintful remake, keep the cutscenes choreography and VA intact, just make it prettier and update the gameplay and camera in-game. Hopefully it happens one day...
