She's disappointed but they now have to change how they talk about the juror now. They were saying he was dumb, arrogant, unwilling to listen to them, how they yelled at him, and he refused to follow the law. You have to dig into the underlying assumptions of liberals to understand why Gale needs to sit with that for a moment. Gale and the lib mindset assumed the holdout juror must be a privileged white man that is incapable of empathizing with a mentally ill woman. The reason it caught Gale off guard is that she would assume a black man who suffers injustice daily would be able to empathize with Clancy and find her not guilty. What is lost in all this is: a jury is not to empathize or have compassion or consider the consequences of the verdict. They are to consider the facts and render a verdict strictly on the facts. Did she commit murder? If so, to what degree? Etc….Empathy and compassion can be weighed in the sentencing, but are not a consideration for the verdict.

Why does it matter what his skin color was? He held what he believes, thats all that matters.
