Kenyan scientists have discovered that larvae of the darkling beetle can digest plastic, potentially offering a solution to plastic waste. Despite producing only 5% of the world's plastic, Africa is now the second most plastic-polluted continent.

A shield must face forward. Some promises can only be kept on the front line. Alexei Petrov, codename Sineva, is an Engineer Operator. Beyond the shield, he still plays the piano.

Thw EU is obsessed with fear. a Drone Defense Initiative, Eastern Flank Watch, an Air Shield, and a Space Shield. Where's the immigration shield? Cost of living shield? Corruption shield? Everything is Russias fault. Even the bad weather.

Caedrel on Doran: Doran is the shield of T1. He will just defend you. And you might look at the shield and be like "Why is this thing got so many scratches and holes in it? Is it really a good shield?" Yes. A good shield is a used shield. That's Doran.

Chris Masterjohn says touching a grocery store receipt puts more BPA into your body than drinking from a plastic water bottle. BPA is a plastic chemical that messes with your hormones. The receipt paper is designed so the coating dusts off onto your hands the moment you touch it. That's how heat printing works. A plastic water bottle is sturdy. A receipt is built to come apart. > If you're a cashier, this stuff is soaking into your fingertips every shift you work. > If you're a customer, you're getting hit with it every time you grab one at checkout. The fix takes two seconds. Tell them you don't need the receipt. — Dr. Chris Masterjohn (Chris Masterjohn) on Alex Clark’s (Alex Clark) podcast

California resident visits Florida. She’s at Target and can’t believe you can just get a plastic bag and a plastic straw Not only that, you aren’t charged for the plastic bags In California there is a full state-wide ban on plastic bags and everyone must pay 10 cents for plastic bags to carry their items. Plastic straws are also banned because of ‘the environment’ In Florida there is no statewide ban or fee on plastic bags or straws. You get free plastic bags at stores like Target, and plastic straws are readily available
