As that most famous woman preacher says, “I didn’t surrender to a calling of man when I was 18 years old, I surrendered to a calling of God. It never occurs to me for a second not to fulfill it. I will follow Jesus. Jesus tells me what to do.” Really? Does the Bible Allow a Woman to Preach? — John MacArthur // November 3, 2019 For it is improper for a woman to speak in church.” That puts a burden on the husband to be the teacher. But then, verse 36. “Why would you defy this? Was it from you that the word of God first went forth?” Well, that is just sarcasm. “Did you write the Bible? Was it from you that the Word of God went? Are you the source of divine truth? Because if you defy this, you’re acting as if you are God, and you have overruled the revelation of God because you’re a higher authority. Or maybe,” – more sarcasm – “or has it come to you only? You had a private revelation, I see. Jesus came to you. Jesus told you to do this.” Look, Paul anticipates the only possible defense of women preachers. One, “You have ideas that literally trump God. How are you?” This is the daily routine of somebody who’s trying to justify their disobedience by special, intimate, personal revelation where Jesus talks only to them. So here’s a last word, verse 37 and 38: “If anyone thinks he’s a preacher, or spiritual,” – led by the Spirit, pneumatikos – “if anybody thinks he’s a preacher, or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you are the Lord’s commandment. If you don’t recognize what I’ve just written as the Lord’s commandment, you are neither a preacher nor spiritual.”Verse 38: “If anyone does not recognize what I have written as the Lord’s command, he is not recognized.” If you don’t recognize the command of God, we don’t recognize you as a preacher or a spiritual person. What Paul wrote is the Lord’s command. Violate that command and you’re not a preacher and you’re not spiritual; you’re a fraud. The Word of God is clear.

Rather than Jesus being the Savior of the world, political leaders claim to be the saviors of the world, of humanity, and civilization. And America replaces Jesus as God’s central messianic force at work in the world. Beware of anyone who says that they are saving God or even saving the world. Baptised Catholics who walk away from the true Church often claim they have “seen the light.” But let’s be clear, that is not the light. No failure of a priest. No scandal of a bishop. Not even the weakness of a Pope is ever a justification to abandon the Catholic Church. The truth is this: you don’t leave Christ because of Judas. The Catholic Church is not built on the perfection of men. it is built on Christ Himself and sustained by the Eucharist. Those who truly understand and value the Eucharist do not walk away from it. Call it what it is, not “seeing the light,” but turning away from it. Leaving the Catholic Church is synonymous with turning away from the Light.

Tucker might want to spend less time with the Quran and more time with the Bible. So for the 100th time, here is biblical proof, historical proof both Catholic and Protestant that he is lying. On purpose. To push an agenda. One that is at odds with the Bible. To say the Jews are not God’s chosen people is not just wrong. It is a denial of what the Bible clearly teaches, and it shows a failure to understand the foundations of Christianity itself. In the Old Testament, God declares Israel’s chosenness beyond dispute. Deuteronomy 7:6 says, “The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.” In Genesis 17:7, God tells Abraham, “I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you.” Everlasting means permanent. Jeremiah 31:36 makes the point in even stronger terms: “Only if the sun, moon, and stars vanish will Israel ever cease to be a nation before me.” If the stars are still shining tonight, then Israel’s covenant still stands. The New Testament affirms this truth just as clearly. Paul raises the question in Romans 11:1, “Did God reject his people?” His answer is immediate: “By no means! God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew.” Later in Romans 11:28–29 he writes, “As far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.” Irrevocable means exactly what it says. No commentator, pundit, or modern voice has the authority to reverse what God Himself has declared. Jesus said in John 4:22, “Salvation is from the Jews.” That is not a side note. It is central to understanding who He is and how God’s plan unfolds. Christianity does not replace Israel. It is joined to Israel. Paul explains this in Romans 11:17–18 when he warns Gentile believers not to boast against Israel: “You, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others… do not consider yourself superior to those other branches.” The Church shares in the promises given to Israel, but those promises remain rooted in the people to whom God first gave them. Church history confirms what Scripture teaches. The early Fathers acknowledged Israel’s election. The Catholic Catechism teaches that “to the Jews belong the covenants, the law, the worship, the promises, and from them is the Christ” (CCC 839–840). Vatican II’s Nostra Aetate solemnly declared that God’s covenant with the Jewish people has never been revoked. Protestant voices like John Calvin, commenting on Romans 11, also affirmed that God did not cut off His covenant with Abraham’s descendants. So when Tucker Carlson claims the Jews are not God’s chosen people, he is not correcting elites or offering a bold insight. He is simply revealing that he does not understand basic Christianity. Cringe! Paula White paralleled Trump to Jesus, saying: “Mr. President, no one has paid the price like you have paid the price. It almost cost you your life. You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It’s a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us but it didn’t end there for Him, and it didn’t end there for you. And I believe that the Lord said to tell you this: because of His victory, you will be victorious in all you put your hands to.” If that doesn’t make you cringe, the comparison, the parallel to the Messiah, then I’m not sure what will. Especially that prosperity declaration at the end, that you will be successful in all that you put your hand to. We don’t have any guarantee of that. We have no promise of that in Scripture. We’ve been given no promise of that by God Himself. Maybe you are facing some kind of hardship right now. Maybe it’s a health scare. A marriage that’s falling apart. A financial situation that has you staring at the ceiling at 2 in the morning. I want you to know something — if you are a Christian, you are not alone. Not even close. God is with you. Jesus said it Himself — “I will never leave you or forsake you.” (Heb. 13:5) Now here’s what’s interesting. A more literal translation of that verse has Jesus saying, “I will never, no never, NO NEVER leave you or forsake you!” In the original Greek, it’s actually a triple negative for emphasis. You simply cannot say it stronger than that. Get the point? Now listen — I want to be straight with you. Following Jesus is not a guarantee that life will be easy. If you are genuinely seeking to obey the Lord, expect opposition. Expect obstacles. Expect difficulties. That’s just the reality. But here’s the other side of that coin — also expect God to show up. Also expect Him to make a way when there seems to be no way. The road of faith can be hard, but you do not walk it alone. God is not watching your struggle from a distance. He is right there in the middle of it with you — and He will see you through!

Evil exists, God exists. God wills evil to exist. He did not create it, He could not create it, but He did not prevent it. He ordained it, He willed it - here it comes, listen carefully - because He had a purpose for it; He had a purpose for it - a purpose. Why Does Evil Dominate the World? — John MacArthur // March 4, 2007 If God is not in total control of evil, if He has not ordained it – listen - and if He does not have it under complete control at every millisecond of history, then this universe is out of control at the most crucial point. If God is not in control of this completely, then how and when will He get the knowledge and the power to get it under control? And I would ask you this: would you rather have a God trying to get control of evil, or a God completely in control of it? Take your choice. But the God of the Bible is in complete control of evil for His own purposes. It is really heresy to say that the world is full of evil apart from a predetermined plan and purpose by God that is far above the willy-nilly choices of people. So, what do we know up to now? Evil exists, God exists. God wills evil to exist. He did not create it, He could not create it, but He did not prevent it. He ordained it, He willed it - here it comes, listen carefully - because He had a purpose for it; He had a purpose for it - a purpose. This is critical: He had a purpose for evil. What is that purpose that God had for evil? Before I answer that question - and that’s the fourth in our little outline - let me read the Westminster Confession from the 1700s; some great theologians and biblical scholars put this together. Listen carefully: “God, from all eternity, did, by the most wise and holy counsel of His own will, freely, and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass:“ Yet so, as thereby neither is God the author of sin, nor is violence offered to the will of the creatures; nor is the liberty or contingency of second-hand causes taken away ... sinfulness proceeds not only from the creature; proceeds only from the creature and not from God, who, being most holy and righteous, neither ... can be the author and approver of sin.” But then, says the Westminster Confession, all that God decrees and all that God providentially brings to pass is all to the praise of His glory - and they got it right.The reason for God ordaining evil is for the praise of His glory. Let me ask you a simple question to help you answer the question - the bigger question: is God more glorious because of sin existing or less glorious? Pretty easy question to answer, isn’t it? That really is the ultimate question. Throughout all the eons of eternity, will God receive more glory from His creatures because sin existed or less? And, friends, that’s really all that matters, is the eternal glory of God. So, it’s fourth down, and we’re on the ten-yard line, and I’m pulling out the winning play and we’re going for six for the victory. Turn to Romans 3 - and I want you to track with me a little bit; can’t take time to develop all of this, but I’m going to give you a good start. Wish I could build context; we don’t have time. But let’s look at chapter 3 and verse 5. Opening statement: “But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say?” Grab that phrase: our right - unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God. And Paul uses the first of a series of verbs; this one happens to be sunistēmi, translated demonstrates in the New American Standard. It is a verb that means to disclose, to reveal, to put on display, to show. Our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God. Another way to say that would be, would you really understand the righteousness of God if you didn’t understand unrighteousness? Isn’t there something to be gained by the contrast? Paul has been showing that God is faithful to His promises to Israel, and their sin and unbelief cannot alter God’s covenant, cannot alter God’s faithfulness.

Why Does Evil Dominate the World? — John MacArthur // March 4, 2007 If God is not in total control of evil, if He has not ordained it – listen - and if He does not have it under complete control at every millisecond of history, then this universe is out of control at the most crucial point. If God is not in control of this completely, then how and when will He get the knowledge and the power to get it under control? And I would ask you this: would you rather have a God trying to get control of evil, or a God completely in control of it? Take your choice. But the God of the Bible is in complete control of evil for His own purposes. It is really heresy to say that the world is full of evil apart from a predetermined plan and purpose by God that is far above the willy-nilly choices of people. So, what do we know up to now? Evil exists, God exists. God wills evil to exist. He did not create it, He could not create it, but He did not prevent it. He ordained it, He willed it - here it comes, listen carefully - because He had a purpose for it; He had a purpose for it - a purpose. This is critical: He had a purpose for evil. What is that purpose that God had for evil? Before I answer that question - and that’s the fourth in our little outline - let me read the Westminster Confession from the 1700s; some great theologians and biblical scholars put this together. Listen carefully: “God, from all eternity, did, by the most wise and holy counsel of His own will, freely, and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass:“ Yet so, as thereby neither is God the author of sin, nor is violence offered to the will of the creatures; nor is the liberty or contingency of second-hand causes taken away ... sinfulness proceeds not only from the creature; proceeds only from the creature and not from God, who, being most holy and righteous, neither ... can be the author and approver of sin.” But then, says the Westminster Confession, all that God decrees and all that God providentially brings to pass is all to the praise of His glory - and they got it right.The reason for God ordaining evil is for the praise of His glory. Let me ask you a simple question to help you answer the question - the bigger question: is God more glorious because of sin existing or less glorious? Pretty easy question to answer, isn’t it? That really is the ultimate question. Throughout all the eons of eternity, will God receive more glory from His creatures because sin existed or less? And, friends, that’s really all that matters, is the eternal glory of God. So, it’s fourth down, and we’re on the ten-yard line, and I’m pulling out the winning play and we’re going for six for the victory. Turn to Romans 3 - and I want you to track with me a little bit; can’t take time to develop all of this, but I’m going to give you a good start. Wish I could build context; we don’t have time. But let’s look at chapter 3 and verse 5. Opening statement: “But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say?” Grab that phrase: our right - unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God. And Paul uses the first of a series of verbs; this one happens to be sunistēmi, translated demonstrates in the New American Standard. It is a verb that means to disclose, to reveal, to put on display, to show. Our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God. Another way to say that would be, would you really understand the righteousness of God if you didn’t understand unrighteousness? Isn’t there something to be gained by the contrast? Paul has been showing that God is faithful to His promises to Israel, and their sin and unbelief cannot alter God’s covenant, cannot alter God’s faithfulness.

The Bible commands husbands to love their wives and wives to reverence their husbands - not manipulate, dominate, or belittle them. Responsibility is the key to greatness - and it is also the key to a healthy marriage. Blaming your spouse for your emotional frustration will not fix your relationship. Accept responsibility for who you have become and for the quality of your marriage. If you do not take happiness into marriage, you will not find happiness in marriage. The Apostle Paul declares in Ephesians 5:33 that husbands are to love and wives are to reverence. Reverence means to stand in awe. When love and respect meet, heaven touches earth in your home.
