An Ayawaso West Wuogon constituent has called on the member of parliament, Hon. John Dumelo and municipal authorities for immediate action against some horticulturists along the GIMPA stretch, who have reportedly dammed gutters in the area to access gathered water for irrigation. According to her, this may be a contributing factor to persistent flooding issues recorded in the municipality and as such, pose a significant risk to all residents.

Tshwane-owned water tankers are on the road providing water to residents. We recently announced that we are abandoning contracted services for water tankers. From 1 April, City staff have been working to provide water to residents in need. We visited Hammanskraal hydrant collection points this morning along with Ward Councillors and MMC for Utility Services Cllr Frans Boshielo. While work is underway to stabilise water supply through infrastructure maintenance and repairs, residents must continue to receive adequate water supply. All these efforts form part our Water Stabilisation Plan that’s backed by funding from the City’s budget. City of Tshwane
