🇮🇷 The pattern of these strikes points somewhere specific: prepping for an amphibious landing or island invasion. Brandon Weichert reads the recent military strikes as anything but random. The specific targets, he argues, heavily indicate forces actively prepping the battlespace for a potential amphibious landing or island invasion. But...

🇺🇸 The current memorandum of understanding represents a substantial strategic failure, particularly concerning the stated objectives of the conflict. Brandon Weichert highlights that Trump’s acknowledgment that Iran will retain its missile and drone capabilities marks a significant loss, as neutralizing this threat was a primary goal of the war effort. U.S. proved unable to destroy these assets within Iran's hardened underground facilities, the administration has effectively conceded that these threats will remain active, placing the U.S. in a much weaker position should the war resume. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump says he will declare the Strait of Hormuz a territory of the United States. He made the claim Friday on Long Island, saying it would come "pretty soon" once the US finishes defeating Iran, and describing the blockade as essentially already making it American. The strait sits in international water between Iranian and Omani territorial seas, narrow enough at roughly 21 nautical miles that the two overlap. Brandon Weichert reads the rhetoric as a symptom of how little diplomatic weight Washington carries now, with the voters who swung the last election drifting away over promises to stay out of Middle East wars. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 Brandon Weichert says conversations with people currently or formerly connected to the CIA have convinced him Washington has long considered a strategy built around two pressure points inside Iran. Kurds in the north. Baluchis in the south. “I am convinced the plan has always been to try to gin up a Kurdish front from the north and a Baluchi front from the south.” Weichert stresses this is his assessment, not a confirmed U.S. plan. But he thinks more extreme options are increasingly plausible for one reason: Washington wants to reassert control over the Strait of Hormuz without committing to the kind of massive ground war that physically taking and holding it would require. And that leaves policymakers looking at increasingly unconventional ways to pressure Tehran from within. Brandon Weichert

🇮🇷 The total breakdown in communication over control of the Strait of Hormuz suggests that this confrontation will not end with a peace deal or a diplomatic compromise. Brandon Weichert stresses that despite financial incentives or external pressure on shipping routes, regional actors are focused on sending a non-negotiable message. Miscalculating the depth of domestic public support and assuming military pressure would force a shift toward compliance stands as a massive intelligence failure. Brandon Weichert

🇺🇸💥Pentagon Prepares for Potential Ground Invasion of Iran: U.S. forces struck dozens of military sites on Iran's Kharg Island overnight. The targets included bunkers, ammunition storage facilities, a radar station, and other military infrastructure such as naval mine and missile storage sites. Landing docks and oil infrastructure were reportedly not intentionally targeted. Kharg Island is Iran's primary oil export hub in the Persian Gulf, responsible for handling approximately 90% of the country's crude oil exports through its terminals, pipelines, and storage facilities. By focusing strikes exclusively on military assets, the U.S. appears to be applying pressure on Iran while deliberately avoiding direct damage to the island’s critical economic infrastructure, which could trigger a sharp rise in global oil prices. The key question now is whether these strikes are preparation for a potential invasion or seizure of the island. In such a scenario, the most likely approach would be for U.S. forces to insert troops via air assault.

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Washington is approaching an ugly choice: withdraw voluntarily or risk being forced out as its military position continues to deteriorate. There's a broader pattern stretching from Iraq to Afghanistan and now the current Iran conflict: American military power remains enormous, but its ability to convert that power into durable political outcomes keeps shrinking. “One way or the other, the Americans are getting out.” The question is whether Washington chooses the exit or waits until someone else chooses it for them. 🚨🇺🇸🇷🇺 Russia is rewriting its nuclear doctrine to allow tactical first strikes on European targets, and the man advising it speaks for the majority of Putin's inner circle. Brandon Weichert expanded on U.S. pulling back support for NATO, a troop deployment to Poland being quietly cancelled, and Turkey moving toward Russia and China for a new defensive alliance entirely. Europe refused to help reopen the Strait. Now they may pay a devastating price for it. "There's nothing holding Moscow back now from letting their forces off the chain." Brandon Weichert

🇮🇷 Brandon Weichert says the proposed Strait of Hormuz arrangement is running into a problem nobody can negotiate away: the people who actually move the world's cargo. Reports of Iran demanding 5–7% of cargo value in transit fees have raised alarm among shipping sources. Brandon compares that with fees charged in other major waterways and argues the difference is too large to ignore. Even if Washington, Tehran and Oman reach an agreement, he says insurers and ship owners may simply refuse to participate. "The politicians can make a deal. But shippers decide whether the ships move." Brandon Weichert

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Seizing Kharg Island without enough troops is a Gallipoli waiting to happen. Geopolitical analyst Brandon Weichert says the problem starts before any Marine touches sand. Iran's coastal defense network, the missiles and systems built to kill approaching forces, means US troops may not even survive the trip in. He's blunt about the core uncertainty: the US cannot guarantee it has degraded Iran's defenses enough to make a landing survivable, whether the force comes by sea or by air from Kuwait. Which leaves one honest conclusion. The military option is off the table, and de-escalation is the only path left that doesn't end in a bloodbath. Brandon Weichert, Jonathan Conricus

🇺🇸🇨🇺 The U.S. may be laying the groundwork for military action against Cuba. One can agree with the strategic objective of strengthening U.S. influence and security in the Western Hemisphere, but Washington has economic and diplomatic tools capable of pressuring Havana without an invasion. After Venezuela and with the Iran war still consuming American resources, the contradiction becomes obvious: Washington wants to reassert control over its own hemisphere precisely when another war is the last thing its military needs. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump's immediate objective is simple: get the U.S. out of the Strait of Hormuz without allowing Iran to dictate who passes through it. The problem is that Tehran now sees Hormuz as its leverage. That may be the central problem with Washington's strategy. Economic warfare can avoid a ground invasion and nuclear escalation. But if Iran believes control of Hormuz is essential to its survival, sanctions may only convince Tehran to hold the strait tighter. The war may have moved from missiles to economics. The underlying confrontation hasn't moved an inch. Brandon Weichert

🇮🇱 🇱🇧 Lebanon was already neutralizing Hezbollah on its own, until Israel barged in and blew it all up. National security expert Brandon Weichert says Israel may have badly overplayed its hand in Lebanon by hijacking a cleanup that was already underway. An amenable Lebanese government, he notes, was actively dismantling Hezbollah before Israel's heavy-handed operations took over. So why push so hard? Weichert points to Netanyahu's political survival, and his need to avoid prosecution on alleged corruption charges, as the real engine behind the war. And for the American taxpayers footing the bill, he says US foreign policy has lost the plot entirely, fixating on dividing lines like the Litani River that have nothing to do with American interests. 🇮🇷 The proposed Iranian framework for controlling the Strait of Hormuz could create a major obstacle to any lasting deal. Iran’s proposed rules would restrict access for U.S., Israeli, and other hostile-linked vessels, impose penalties on violators, and give Tehran a formal role in monitoring maritime traffic. Brandon Weichert argues that if such measures become law, they would be far harder to reverse than a temporary negotiating position, potentially locking in a new strategic reality around one of the world’s most important shipping chokepoints. 🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran just struck a Himars battery in Kuwait, the first time since the ceasefire, and the U.S. answered with what's being described as 140 targets in a single wave. This isn't a skirmish anymore. Brandon Weichert, geopolitical analyst, joined me as the strikes pushed deeper into Iran than anything since the war paused, hitting Ahvaz airport and a heavy-water nuclear facility at Khondab for the first time in this round. His read: this isn't random escalation. It's a campaign to strip Iran of any ability to threaten the Strait of Hormuz, aimed at a scenario where a Marine expeditionary unit eventually seizes Kharg Island itself to physically control the chokepoint. "I don't think any of this is going to work, though, and I think it's going to get all of our troops either captured or killed." He doesn't think degrading Iran's capability makes the regime more compliant. He thinks it makes it more desperate, and a failed landing on Kharg could be the trigger that pushes the conflict toward nuclear escalation, not from Iran, but from an American president unwilling to absorb a defeat of that scale. Meanwhile Israel's gone quiet, reportedly stretched thin on interceptors and pulling back its own position in Lebanon rather than expanding it. If the objective really is a permanent grip on the Strait rather than a quick resolution, is this the kind of war that ends in months, or the kind that just becomes the new baseline for the region?
