The people that have a problem with Drake not “maturing” don’t realize that by continuing to connect with younger audiences, he’s extending his relevance in a way that almost no artist in history has done. That’s not immaturity, that’s longevity. That’s good business. Most artists age out of cultural...

@TyreeLHolland The mental gymnastics you’re playing with yourself to make excuses for a grown man who grew up to be a YN is hilarious 😂 We watched the character switch 🤦🏽‍♂️

It’s sad that we live in a society where common folk are too stupid to understand this and appreciate the genius of Drake.

I’ve been saying most of this for the longest. Talented as Drake is his marketing may be just good or even better. Drake knows what to do to stay relevant while also always keeping his base pleased. Most artists couldn’t survive the bad pub from that battle. Drake’s bigger now…

Your whole image is now defending Drake. You need to focus on that social media app you were supposed to start years ago.

That “maturing” problem is bullshit. They don’t treat other rappers like that. Rick Ross is about to put out another super fake mafioso boss themed album and no one is going to say there’s no growth. What Kendrick did in the battle was opposite of growth. It’s all bullshit.

FACTS. And honestly, I don’t need to hear a 444 style album from Drake or anyone else. Everyone mad that they have to grow up and grow boring and he hasn’t.

Literally been saying this for awhile now. Feels good to not be the only one who see it so clearly. Hey @theneedledrop you may be able to learn something here You're judging him by what YOU want him to be and not who he IS. The artist that changed their style to introspective did so because they realized they were no longer tapped in and couldn't capture the youth. Or in the words of ICEMAN: "If they coulda been they WOULDA BEEN,... but THEY CAN'T!" Know what I'm saying.... Outside is back to what it was.

I don’t think people are clueless to the reasons for doing it. In fact, that’s the exact rub Drake is a PRODUCT to market, not an ARTIST, in the purest sense of art as an expression of self. There are plenty of people who make living off “corporate art” - but it’s commercial

I think this is a very solid take, but I also believe that with ICEMAN he was able to recapture a lot of his older audience by going back to Rap/Hip-Hop fundamentals. I can't speak for everyone, but the effort behind the lyrics/penmanship is what his original fanbase was missing.

It is good bussiness AND immaturity at the same time. Cause if he does it just for the money that makes him fake. He is what he raps about. You don't have to be an activist or a leader but being 40 and rapping about only hoes and Instagram likes is just immaturity

@stevonaj 👨‍💻Drake never fell off because he always was trying to do something new Whether there’s new beats or working with new artist, he kept himself fresh and in the game Unlike other Rappers that fall off because they never changed. Drake and Nicki Minaj same business strategy

what are you even talking about ? even before the beef, high school boys were calling Drake zesty and corny. Younger kids especially boys are not listening to Drake. They are listening to Carti and Yeat. Drake is for men in their 30s and 40s who are mentally in High School.

Every Retail, Restaurant, Hospitality, Tech, Hospital & Health Care, Social Media, Media & Home Improvement company in the world is trying to do what he’s doing. It’s called Skew to a younger demographic. It extends your product life cycle, they build long term financial models & forecasts based on it. They invest dollars into marketing and advertising to skew their content & creative for it. They even change their brand iconography because of it. Most companies do it wrong and lose their core customer and never connect with the younger demographic. But the ones who do it successfully, do it over and over and over again. They’re perfectly fine with losing some of their older demo for another 20 year run with their younger one. ITS BUSINESS.

Every time KCEE drops a new project, some people just jump in with their unnecessary criticism and it is very annoying watching people make unsavory comments on art they don’t understand. This nonsense was done to Ojapiano sound that would have changed the music landscape, how did it end? Your guess is as good as mine. It is not that it’s not good work, but some of you’re not happy that he’s the one doing it. WHY? KCEE has spent an incredible 27 years in the music industry, and that journey deserves to be celebrated, recognized, and deeply appreciated. From the days of KCPresh to where he stands today, KCEE has consistently evolved with the sound of every generation. He has reinvented himself, embraced change, taken risks, and continued to push boundaries regardless of the noise or criticism that has come his way. He has worked with the hunger of a serious up and coming artist, someone who has refused to take anything for granted, constantly creating, experimenting, and challenging himself to do more. Every time he introduces a new idea or takes his sound in a different direction, there are always opinions, doubts, and people ready to question him. Yet, through it all, he has remained relentless. You should RESPEKT that! KCEE has repeatedly shown that he is not a pushover and cannot simply be pushed aside or written off. His longevity is a testament to his resilience, his talent, his adaptability, and, most importantly, his passion for music. He has contributed significantly to the Nigerian and African music landscape. His body of work, his visuals, his influence, and his ability to remain relevant across different eras have earned him a place in the history of our music. All these unnecessary talks about his craft is unfounded and unwarranted. He has proven to everyone of you wrong at every point in time, that he deserves whatever credits he’s getting. KCEE is a living legend, and 27 years is not moimoi, how many of his contemporaries are still making music that’s relatable?
