The political script in Maharashtra never changes - only the seasons do. Just two days ago, Sharad Pawar broke his public hiatus (after securing his RS seat) to hold a press conference. Ostensibly addressing a global fuel conservation brief, his main political weapon was aimed squarely at CM Devendra...

Elon Announces Major Retreat From Political Donations After Record Campaign Spending: ‘I’ve Done Enough’ | Jordyn M., Resist The Mainstream The billionaire entrepreneur elaborated on his reasoning when pressed for additional details. He did leave the door open for potential future political involvement under specific circumstances, though. “Well, if I see a reason to do political spending in the future, I will do it,” he continued during his remarks. The tech mogul, however, emphasized his current stance remains firm. “I do not currently see a reason,” Musk added. The announcement comes after Musk emerged as President Donald Trump’s largest campaign donor during the 2024 election. Reports indicate Musk spent over $250 million to help secure Trump’s return to the White House, making him one of the most significant individual political contributors in American election history. Musk’s financial support extended beyond the presidential race into congressional contests. He contributed more than $19 million in the final weeks of the campaign to support Republican efforts to retake control of the House and Senate, demonstrating his commitment to advancing conservative political objectives across multiple levels of government. His political action committee, America PAC, demonstrated continued activity even after the election concluded. The Post Millennial (TPM) highlighted that the organization recently spent over $13 million backing a candidate in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race. The Wisconsin investment did not yield the desired results for Musk’s political interests. The contest ended in defeat for his preferred candidate, marking a notable setback for America PAC’s efforts and highlighting the unpredictable nature of political investments even with substantial financial backing. Since Trump’s inauguration, Musk has maintained a prominent position within the administration structure. He currently leads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which carries the responsibility of cutting federal spending and eliminating government waste. Musk’s high-profile political involvement has generated significant backlash against his business interests from opposing political factions. During his remarks at the Qatar forum, he addressed the violence that has been directed at Tesla as he has worked with the Trump administration, acknowledging the personal and corporate costs of his political engagement. Tesla stock experienced initial volatility amid Musk’s political activities and public statements, per TPM. The company’s shares suffered a steep drop during the height of his political involvement, though they have since recovered their value as markets adjusted to his new role in government. Physical attacks on Tesla properties have become a concerning trend. Dealerships across the country have been subjected to vandalism and arson attacks by extremists seeking to target the company’s financial performance. Musk signaled his shifting priorities during an April earnings call with investors. He indicated his focus would return to his companies and that his role in the Department of Government Efficiency would “significantly” decrease. Despite his public statements about reduced political involvement, sources suggest Musk may continue wielding influence. An advisor to Musk told NBC News that scaling back his public profile does not necessarily diminish his political impact. The source provided insight into potential future strategies. “Musk scaling back his public profile does not diminish his influence. I think it can actually sharpen it,” the advisor explained. While comparing Khamenei 2.0 to his dead father, it’s important to remember that Ali Khamenei rose to power in 1989, at the age of 50, after 25 years of cultivating an image as an unworldly cleric, mainly interested in poetry and philosophy rather than political power. Even his fiercest critics recognise that Ali Khamenei was a good orator and knew how to read the room. He was a violent, manipulative, and brutal theocrat but knew how to use words, and did that very well in meetings with Revolutionary Guards commanders and hardline clerics in the first years after coming to power to gain their trust. On the other hand, Mojtaba Khamenei has never (NEVER!) given a public speech. In one private video message sent to his students at the seminary, shared on social media and here, Mojtaba has difficulty putting two sentences together and getting to the point. That will pose a problem for him and the regime. In a situation in which the “supreme” leader must live in a bunker for the foreseeable future, he and his regime will have a very difficult time working on his image, earning his followers' trust, and finding new acolytes. The result will be an even more brutal rule than his father’s, with no need to pretend that his rule is legitimate or to reach a consensus with different parts of Iranian society. Mojtaba may have outmanoeuvred his rivals to come to power, but years of operating in the shadow of his father will catch up with him soon. Dark days ahead for Mojtaba, his regime, and, sadly, for millions of innocent Iranians taken hostage by the Khamenei regime. #iran #IranMassacre‌ #IranRevolution2026‌

“Charlie was absolutely pulling back on his support for Israel; coincidentally he was killed immediately thereafter.” I don’t give two shits whether Charlie was leaving the pro-Israel cause, but I do care about truth and not rushing to use a dead man as a political pawn like the vulture you and others are JP Sears For the final time: We do not know Charlie was leaving the pro-Israel cause. He sent that in a private text thread and then proceeded to…do nothing about it publicly. He lived for two more days and continued to post and broadcast like normal and…never said a word. If he was so convicted, why didn’t he go public? Say it on his show? Tweet it out? Unfortunately, we’ll never know what he would’ve done or what was really in his heart and mind those final days. The only one even close to knowing is the woman you endlessly mock. Moreover, Charlie had been critical of Jewish donors and Israel zealots calling him “anti-Semite” for literal months, so no, he wasn’t murdered immediately after allegedly pulling back his support. It had been a months-long struggle, if you actually listened to his show or watched his appearances. Stop acting like the timing is “oh so convenient and coincidental.” Finally, TPUSA had Tucker at America Fest. It has Steve Bannon. It literally had a debate on the main stage about America’s relationship with Israel. It had people on the main stage tearing down Ben Shapiro. It had Megyn Kelly on the main stage. They allowed a young attendee to get up to the mic and ask Ben Shapiro about the USS Liberty after his speech. So no, it’s not Israel first. Will you please stop shoehorning in things to fit your preconceived narrative and pretending like Erika or TPUSA as it currently stands is “Israel first” when you actually don’t attend the events or listen to the discourse and didn’t give two shits about Charlie while he was alive?

More info Boban Janković was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, in 1963. Tall, talented, and passionate, he grew into one of Serbia’s most promising basketball players during the 1980s. A forward with a strong presence on the court, he played for Red Star Belgrade and quickly earned a reputation as a fiery competitor who gave everything for the game. Fans loved him for his heart and intensity, while rivals respected his skill. In 1992, after years in his home country’s league, Janković moved to Greece and signed with Panionios, a respected Athens-based club. He brought with him the energy and toughness that had made him a star. But his story would take a devastating turn just a year later. On April 28, 1993, during a Greek League playoff game between Panionios and Panathinaikos, Janković was called for a foul he believed was unfair. In a split-second of frustration, he turned and rammed his head against the concrete base of the basketball hoop. The crowd gasped. Instead of just releasing anger, the act caused an immediate and catastrophic injury. He collapsed to the floor, screaming in agony. Moments later, doctors realized the worst: his spine was broken, and he was paralyzed from the neck down. Janković was just 30 years old. Overnight, a vibrant athlete was confined to a wheelchair, unable to walk again. The injury stunned the basketball world. Fans, teammates, and even rivals mourned the tragedy. His number 8 jersey at Panionios was retired, a tribute to his sacrifice and spirit. Life after that was unimaginably difficult. Janković moved to Greece permanently, where he began the long process of adapting to his new reality. His wife and family stood by his side, supporting him through years of physical and emotional struggles. Despite his condition, he remained connected to the basketball community, appearing at games and still being treated as a hero by Panionios fans who never forgot his dedication. Yet the tragedy took its toll. Living as a quadriplegic was a daily battle. His once powerful body, built for competition, now relied completely on others. Still, Janković showed remarkable resilience. Friends often recalled that he never lost his sense of humor, even in the darkest moments. Sadly, his life was cut short. On June 28, 2006, at just 42 years old, Boban Janković died from heart failure in Athens, where he had spent his final years. His death left a void in both Serbian and Greek basketball. Simple Beginnings to the Apex of India’s Judiciary - A Journey Celebrated! Attended the felicitation ceremony of Chief Justice of India, Hon. Shri Bhushan Gavai ji, organised by the Maharashtra Legislature at Vidhan Bhavan, Mumbai. To see a son of Maharashtra, upholding the timeless values of simplicity, integrity, and compassion passed down by his father, late Dadasaheb Gavai, being honoured on such a meaningful platform was a moment to cherish. His journey inspires countless others. From studying in a municipal school, unfamiliar with English till Class 7, to rising to the Nation’s highest judicial post - Hon. Shri Bhushan Gavai ji has shown how sincerity, values, and determination can shape extraordinary destinies. As a government pleader, when the High Court ordered the demolition of decades-old slums in Nagpur, it was he who moved the Supreme Court, secured a stay, and safeguarded the homes and dignity of countless families. He has consistently upheld that justice must be fair, humane, and in public interest. His landmark verdict in the long-stalled Bhopal highway case reflected this belief. Amidst environmental hurdles, his bench swiftly brought together key decision makers and directed a resolution within a month. The move not only cleared the highway but also finalised a crucial mitigation plan and completed the vital tiger corridor, proving development and conservation can progress hand in hand. Recently, his important judgment on Vidarbha’s ‘Zudpi Jungles’ cleared several long-pending projects, secured land for forest development, and provided timely relief to local communities. Every chapter in his career reflects a people-first, balanced, and compassionate approach to justice. The Maharashtra Legislature was proud to felicitate such an outstanding son of this land, a man whose life and work continue to inspire through wisdom, courage, and quiet strength. #OppositionDividedWeakParalysed While main opposition leader Nelson Chamisa has relatively been quiet - conspicuous by his absence from action and loud silence, except for his occasional political posturing and symbolic resistance with a religious-style approach under his Agenda 2026 in a bid to reboot his sluggish career, his former ally in the opposition trenches Tendai Biti has taken a more vocal, confrontational, high-profile legal and public-outreach role opposing the government on its constitutional amendments to facilitate President Emmerson Mnangagwa's term extension and a raft of reforms changing the political, electoral and governance systems. Upon his return to active politics in January after a controversial two-year hiatus following the capture by Zanu PF of his CCC opposition party, Chamisa focused on "Agenda 2026" as a movement intended to rebuild Zimbabwe through a citizen-driven dialogue rather than traditional party politics. While he has launched this initiative and occasionally commented on social media to oppose Zanu PF's "2050 agenda" - incomprehensibly referring to the 2030 agenda - his public engagement has been characterised more by statements of intent, use of symbols and preaching "change" rather than organising grassroots resistance given his huge popular support base. He has defended his strange "No to 2050" social media post and castigated violence against citizens opposing constitutional changes, maintaining a symbolic rather than confrontational role. In the process, Chamisa has now become the weak link within the opposition movement. By constrast, Biti, who has no popular social base, has been highly vocal, acting as the convener of the Constitution Defenders Forum. Others who have been vocal include Jameson Timba as Convenor of Constitutional Defence Forum, Job Sikhala who leads National Democratic Working Group, Lovemore Madhuku and his National Constitutional Assembly, and strong-willed opposition figure Jacob Ngarivhume, among others. Biti has launched a vigorous campaign against Constitution Amendment No. 3, which aims to extend presidential terms beyond 2028 and change the political system. He has referred to the proposed changes as "legal lunacy" and a "quiet constitutional coup". Furthermore, Biti has taken the fight directly to the people, conducting door-to-door mobilisation drives and street campaigns in areas like Chitungwiza and Mutare to educate citizens on the implications of the reforms. Alongside other activists, he has filed urgent court bids to stop police from disrupting their private meetings regarding the constitutional reforms. As a result, Biti was yesterday arrested while organising a rally against the amendments in Mutare. Biti has invited Chamisa to work with him and others in fighting the current constitutional changes. However, Chamisa, despite his massive support, has distanced himself from Biti, Timba and others. He has been pussyfooting and claiming there is no constitution to defend, alarming his opposition allies. Despite pressure to take a form a party and adopt more aggressive approach, Chamisa maintains a propositional posture, making his politics and pronouncements merely symbolic opposition, not serious resistance anymore. This comes as the opposition is divided, weak and paralysed. The absence of a strong opposition and check on power has allowed for the proposal of constitutional amendments that extend the presidential terms from five to seven years and Mnangagwa's term extension, accompanied by raft of contentious changes in the political system. As formal opposition parties have fragmented and weakened, civil society groups and grassroots movements have increasingly taken centre stage in protesting government policies, human rights issues and the current constitutional amendments.

After a month of calculated silence, Nikol Pashinyan and his ruling regime have resumed their campaign against the Armenian Apostolic Church. In his latest remarks, he referred to the Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II, by his secular name, a move widely regarded by the faithful as blasphemy. This follows his May comments mocking Armenia’s churches as “storage rooms,” which drew condemnation from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. At the time, clergy noted the deliberate timing, pointing out it coincided with an international conference in Switzerland focused on preserving Artsakh’s endangered Christian heritage. The escalation has moved beyond rhetoric. More than two dozen individuals connected to the Church, including Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan, and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, have been imprisoned on various charges. Courts, security services, and state-controlled media have all been mobilized, creating what many see as a coordinated effort to weaken the Church’s authority. Ordinary believers, too, report intimidation for expressing loyalty to the Church. The scale of repression has drawn comparisons to Soviet times, when clergy and laypeople alike were persecuted to sever Armenians from their faith. Then it was Moscow; today it is Yerevan. At the very moment Azerbaijan is erasing Armenian churches in Artsakh, Armenia’s own leaders are dismantling the Church at home. His decision to restart the assault after a calculated pause only deepens suspicions that this is a deliberate strategy. For weeks, he remained silent, only to return with greater hostility - revealing that his enmity toward the Church is not a passing outburst but a central political project.

SM Krishna: A personal tribute I woke up today to the news of the passing of Sri SM Krishna, one of the most progressive and visionary former Chief Minister of Karnataka. Though my personal interactions with him have been limited to a few interactions at public events, the loss seemed deeply personal. As I booked tickets to Bengaluru to pay my last respects to the great man, I realised how deeply I was inspired by him in a multitude of ways. Mr. Krishna was the CM of Karnataka when I was in school, when I was first forming my worldview of politics and public life. It was the days when I was contesting my school elections for Head Boy and was tasting action in democracy for the first time. Naturally, as CM, Krishna dominated the newspapers and TV channels and I would follow his interactions with great interest. Also, it was the time when Dr. Rajkumar was abducted by Veerappan and we would have school holidays declared regularly. Many school children of my age, we would watch news with curiosity to know if the CM would declare another holiday. In all those interviews, the CM’s poise, his weighted choice of words and his resoluteness impressed my young mind. This inspired me deeply and drew me to him. The more I followed him, as a young boy interested in politics, the more I wanted to model myself after him. Mr. Krishna was in many respects a leader ahead of his times. At a time when political leaders were deeply influenced by socialism to the point of opposing industrialisation and urbanisation, Krishna was a clear believer in free markets, industrialisation and the need for urbanisation to create mass level prosperity. It was under his leadership that Bengaluru emerged as the country’s IT capital, leveraging its unique educational and human resource capabilities. Most of the now big IT services firms of the country received immense policy support during Krishna’s time. Bengaluru also saw its infrastructure develop rapidly. From the metro to the flyovers to the ring roads to the work on the new airport - all received tremendous attention under SM Krishna. He clearly understood that cities are the engines of growth and prosperity and that they needed to be given the political and financial capital needed. Even to this day, unfortunately, many political leaders and parties do not understand this and continue to ignore our urban development needs. Perhaps, this distance from socialism also had a role in his sartorial choices. While it was expected that political leaders should dress in the modest Khadi and shun flamboyance in an attempt to resonate with the poor masses, Krishna was flamboyant, stylish and savvy. He dressed well, like how the leader of an aspiring global city should. I have never seen him dressed shabbily ever, even in photos from the hospital bed. There was something regal about his appearance. I have googled so many of his pictures to try and buy similar clothes, ties and pocket squares. He is undoubtedly the most stylish politician of Karnataka. Mr. Krishna’s term as CM was not a bed of roses. The abduction of Dr. Rajkumar was one of the most difficult challenges that faced him and the way he handled the issue tactically, coordinating with CM Jayalalitha and also initiating track two dialogues with the forest brigand, and finally ensuring the release of Rajkumar is a lesson for many in crisis management and diplomacy. Unfortunately, the state suffered continuous drought during his CM-ship and despite his best efforts, the farmers crisis across the state remained quite acute and even led to the eventual loss of the Congress Party in the elections. Despite these challenges, his leadership transformed Bengaluru and created tremendous wealth for people of Karnataka. If Karnataka is among the wealthiest states in the country and Bengaluru is the richest city in the country in terms of per capita income, Krishna’s role is significant. While SM Krishna will be remembered for his developmental role, his crisis handling skills and his contribution to modern Bengaluru, he will mostly be loved by Kannadigas for the decency and dignity with which he carried his public life - a value so rare in Indian politics. All his interviews, in both English and Kannada are a treat to watch for his command over the languages and the depth in which he addressed the subjects and importantly for the decency with which he addressed all, including his sharpest rivals. His dignified personal conduct won him many admirers across political divides - even traditional BJP voting families like mine were ardent supporters of Krishna. It was like homecoming when Krishna joined the BJP in 2019, inspired by PM Modi. An ardent connoisseur of arts, Mr. Krishna and his wife Prema were often spotted at the cultural and theatre circuit of Bengaluru. I have seen him and his wife at the Rama Seva Mandali Ramotsava music festival many times. He was in the mould of our Mysuru Maharajas who were not only great patrons of our classical arts, but were passionate connoisseurs themselves. A state’s cultural life gets enriched with such political leaders. Even a year ago, I met Mr. Krishna at a play where we both were guests and I got an opportunity to take his blessings. In many ways, SM Krishna deeply influenced me in my formative days as a young school boy aspiring to get into politics. From his dignified public conduct to his focus on industrialisation and urbanisation to his impeccable sartorial choices - his influence was immense. I was delighted when he joined the BJP just before the 2019 elections and even came to campaign for me. He was not in the best of health then, but despite that, he stood in the heat in the campaign vehicle for more than an hour and even indulged my selfie videos. His support meant a lot to me personally. As we bid farewell to him, those of us in public life must resolve to conduct our politics in his mould - dignified, accommodating, progressive and prosperity creating for our people. I appeal to CM Siddaramaiah and DCM DK Shivakumar to institute an award in Sri SM Krishna’s name to honour those who make a significant contribution to the development of Bengaluru - it will not only inspire many to work for our city but also keep the memory of an inspired life alive. As a proud Kannadiga and a Bengaluru boy, I thank Sri SM Krishna for everything. Go well, Sir.

🚨WOW!!!! A Vietnam vet gave up his dream car, a '69 Mustang Mach 1, to raise his 6 sons. He never let them see what it cost him. 50 years later, his youngest traded away his OWN Mustang to track down the exact car... and handed his dad the keys on Father's Day. His name is Daniel Allen and he came home from the Vietnam war and bought his dream car. It was a white 1969 Mustang Mach 1. Black hood, red stripes, four-speed. And then he gave it up. Because one baby became two. Then three. Then six sons. And a two-door muscle car can't raise a family. So Daniel traded away his dream, the way good fathers do. He never made his boys feel the cost of it. But his youngest son, Shane, was always listening. Every time his dad told the story of "the one that got away," it stuck. The two of them even made a tradition of it, going to Father's Day car shows together, hunting for Mustangs, reminiscing. So this year, Shane found it. A white '69 Mach 1, exactly like the one his father described for decades. He traded away his OWN restored Mustang GT to get it, then had it repainted and reupholstered to match his dad's memory down to the detail. And to get it, he traded away his OWN restored Mustang. On Father's Day, at their car show, Daniel walked past a Mach 1 and noticed a name tag hanging from the mirror that read "Daniel." He figured it was a coincidence. Half-joking, he said, "Where are my keys?" His son reached out and put the keys in his hand and told him to fire it up. This grown man. This veteran. He climbed out of that car, asked his son how on earth he'd pulled it off, and when Shane told him he'd traded his own custom Mustang to do it... ...Daniel broke down and wrapped his boy in his arms. Fifty years later, the dream he laid down for his kids... his kid handed right back to him. God bless the Allen family. That's what it's all about.

Is it true that when Saudi Crown Prince MBS lent his personal plane to Imran Khan for his trip to the U.S., Imran Khan and his team made critical remarks about MBS that were overheard by the Saudis, prompting MBS to take back his plane? If so, this perfectly encapsulates Imran Khan’s diplomatic record. From his provocative, offensive, and hollow speech against India’s Modi on occupied Kashmir at the UNGA, where he sounded more like a jihadi leader addressing a jirga in Waziristan than a statesman addressing the global leaders, to his suicidal attempt to form a "new Islamic bloc" with Turkey, Malaysia, and Iran, as well as his ill-advised comments about the Taliban after the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, Imran Khan consistently failed to justify his position or leverage opportunities effectively. While I have no doubt that Imran Khan is the best option for the people of Pakistan, he lacked the diplomatic finesse needed to carve out a role for himself on the global stage. It's such a shame that a cricketing legend and a former prime minister of a country has no friends to support him today. If not for the efforts of overseas Pakistanis, you wouldn't be seeing the little attention he gets from American and some British politicians. I wish, as a prime minister, Imran Khan was advised by educated and intelligent people who helped him establish himself as a world leader, not surrounded by emotional idiots who sent him to interviews unprepared, turned every interaction with the international press a PR disaster, sent him to Russia on the day Putin brutally invaded Ukraine, and asked him to walk barefoot in Madina like an ignorant, overly emotional person. Worse, they facilitated the mismanagement of priceless, personalized gifts he received from foreign leaders at Toshakhana, selling them and tarnishing his reputation and relationships. I hope that if and when Imran Khan gets another chance, he has a better team and conducts himself as a more effective leader, not just for his people, but on the global stage.
