Ah, if only BSG thought of implementing vital organs similar to GZW when doing their armor rework. Alas the entire trip down "realistic plates" was basically a wash. It also goes without mentioning their netcode or servers could not keep up with the hitreg of vital's hitboxes.

I wouldn't call it a wash. We have plates in armor now, and more options and choices for our kits than we did before 14.0. Did it work out as well as hoped? No. But it's not going backwards or a wash IMO.

I'd argue with the previous system, skill was more important (than gear), since you could still use 'mid tier' ammo for PvP as long as you were a good enough shot (to hit them multiple times) and had better positioning. Now we're back to square one with having to meta chase ammo.

See 2:00 in the video. Anyone getting kills with crap ammo that couldn't get through plates was killing players out of luck, not skill. Positioning is still king. If you have better positioning now, your still going to win the fight unless you make a mistake somewhere else.

i absolutely get your point, but the next logical step for tarkov would have been to introduce such a realistic damage system instead of de-evolutionizing the game and trying to turn it even more into CoD again. at this rate im waiting for them to backtrack on inertia too

I think that's a bit hyperbolic. Tarkov has been using what is essentially the same armor system for years.

Love this explanation of it

I also liked the realistic armor plates and never complained about getting armpit killed the few times I did. So thank you for this video further explaining why the realistic plates don’t work with the current hit boxes!

The Grey Zone part is literally the best visual representation as to why the realistic armor system doesn't work. Nice Video.

Expect with a realistic organs damage system you all gonna cry when you get 1 shot too.

@NEXsarp Works great in GZW. I enjoy it quite alot.
