Nobody comes into my office and says they've been losing ground for years. They come in for a knee or a shoulder. But when you ask the right questions, a different story emerges. They stopped hiking because it got too hard. They gave up tennis. They hesitate before the stairs they used to take without thinking. Congress is in trouble if they elect Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House. Why? Because Trump appears to be orchestrating this, which means Trump will likely have a huge amount of control over Congress. Why is that bad? It means that a government shutdown will likely take place. It also means that any chance of bipartisan legislation will be much harder than it was under Kevin McCarthy. It means we will likely see everything be about impeaching Biden.
