I just watched a video of an illegal immigrant having her car towed because she parked in a handicap spot. Instead of acknowledging the violation, she claimed the tow operator put her in danger because she didn’t understand how the system works. That right there is the problem. Laws exist to protect the vulnerable. Handicap spaces are not suggestions. They are reserved for people with real physical limitations… not convenience. Ignorance of the law is not an exemption from the law. Victimhood does not override responsibility. And enforcing rules is not oppression… it is how order is maintained. When basic standards are framed as cruelty and accountability is portrayed as harm, the entire system begins to rot. This isn’t about cruelty. It’s about clarity. Rules matter. Enforcement matters. Here is what he says on the "rules-based order": "We say we're the exceptional nation. What does that mean? That means we make the rules and you're supposed to obey the rules. But we don't obey the rules. So we say we're for the rules-based order. Excuse me the rules-based order was the basis with which we invaded Iraq? I don't think so. That we occupied Afghanistan? I don't think so. The US has made a lot of mistakes of unnecessary wars."

When Trump attacks judges, many Americans are alarmed because “bullying the courts” is a tactic straight out of the “authoritarian playbook.” In other words: would-be tyrants always try to intimidate, undermine and discredit all other centers of power. In the U.S. context, a wannabe dictator would try to run over anyone in authority — anybody who could make him follow the same rules every other president has respected. He would want to be “above the law.” If that is not Trump’s goal, he should say that plainly — and govern himself accordingly by immediately ending his assault on American judges. Because rhetoric and actions like his have proven to be very dangerous in other countries. Often, would-be dictators say they need to break laws, rules and norms to get “terrorists, murderers and rapists.” But as soon as any society lets a president break all its rules to go after ONE group— a dangerous precedent has been set. Now that same lawless president can violate those same rules to go after the NEXT group — and the next. Soon nobody is safe. This is how society after society has fallen into dictatorship (or quasi-dictatorship). I don’t want America to go down that path. An American president can enforce tough, smart immigration laws and uphold the Constitution at the same time. That’s the American Way. No patriot should tolerate any U.S. president attacking American’s court system, defying American judges or breaking American laws.
