We welcome the additional £3 million in funding announced by the Chancellor today to support promising early career cancer researchers. This funding from the Medical Research Charities Early Career Researchers Support Fund is a welcome boost at a time when inflation and the cost of living is squeezing research. This local from Corpus Christi beach tells everyone to please not feed the seagulls. She says that’s a message from all the locals there. However, a great many of the locals chimed in and said go ahead and feed them. Live your best life, and that many of them take their own kind of food to feed the seagulls. One person said, be that person! Experience ljoy and happiness, feed the birds. ❤️ We used to go to West Beach in Galveston where you can drive on the beach. We would load up some crumbs and sit on the back of the tailgate and drive and feed the seagulls with them following us. The kids always loved it. Life is short. Find your beauty where you can. 💯 What do you think? Are you with this local and think that people shouldn’t be feeding the seagulls? Or are you with the other locals who said go for it, live your best life?

Canada has announced a recruitment program for top research talent and H1B visa holders from the US. Mark Carney: "$1.7B for the world's most talent researchers - a thousand of them and targeted H1B visa requirements from the United States." How does it cost $1.7M per talent?! Where does money go? Top talent goes to the US under O-1 visa. Canada already has visas to attract talent. Immigration isn't the problem. The problem is that talent has nothing to work on in Canada and there isn't sufficient capital to grow and commercialize R&D intensive industries.
