The question everyone’s asking right now: Will AI replace us ❓❓❓ I’ve spent the last four years working in Web3 as a video editor and graphic designer, and I’ll be honest I used to be scared it could replace me. The craft that took me years to master can...

.Naval: The easiest way to see that AI is not taking jobs but creating opportunities is to go learn AI and then reapply for the job that rejected you. Watch how they pull you in. “My last startup, Airchat, could not have existed without AI because we needed the transcription/translation. And even the current thing I’m working on—it’s not an AI company, but it cannot exist without AI. It is relying on AI. Even at AngelList, we’re significantly adopting AI. Like everywhere you turn, it’s more opportunity, more opportunity, more opportunity. And people like to go on Twitter—or the artist formerly known as Twitter—and basically, they like to exaggerate. Like, ‘Oh my God, we’ve hit AGI.’ ‘Oh my God, I just replaced all my mid-level engineers.’ ‘Oh my God, I’ve stopped hiring.’ To me, that’s moronic. The two valid perspectives are the one-man entrepreneur shows, where there’s one guy or one gal, and they’re scaling up like crazy thanks to AI. Or there are people who are embracing AI and being like, ‘I need to hire, and I need to hire anyone who can even spell ‘AI’—anyone who’s even used AI. Just come on in, come on in.’ Again, I would say the easiest way to see that AI is not taking jobs but creating opportunities is this: go brush up on your AI, learn a little bit, watch a few videos, use the AI, tinker with it, and then go reapply for that job that rejected you. Watch how they pull you in.”

My upcoming release of "Cinematic AI" has made me think about how bodies of work are formed. I think some are manifested and some are revealed. I think "Cinematic AI" falls into the latter category. It was not something I had a clear vision for and then created, but it was something that was revealed to me over time. I thought I saw a glimmer of it early on, but only after some time had past, could I see the body of work emerge. With a bit more context and watching great artists and how they work and think, it finally came to me that this series of 15-20 pieces that I had created could be a worthy collection to mint. AI art has been going through so many transformations from the early GAN work to Collaborative AI to now AI being widely accessible through platforms like MidJourney, Stable Diffusion, and many others. But one area that I have seen explode in recent months is cinematic AI. I distinguish this from animated AI, which has been around for a while, but cinematic AI is where the movements created by AI are getting closer to what you'd see in a movie or captured on a video camera. It still has a long way to go but it is getting more real than surreal as the technology develops. And this is where I seem to have found my groove, my home, my little corner in the artistic landscape. After Runway launched their image-to-video tool, it just blew my mind and I went down a deep rabbit hole and have created a new cinematic AI piece almost every other day for the past few months. I initially saw many of these pieces as just experiments, but with some time to reflect, I am seeing them as having the potential of being relevant pieces of artwork to mark this time in the development of AI. In some cases, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to create a similar piece again, since the tools I use are not in my control, but in the control of the AI platforms, who are constantly improving and evolving the tools. Given all of this, there is no better way to mark my place in time than on the blockchain. I truly believe that this body of work has the potential to be an important artifact of this era in AI and AI art. It is always hard to judge ones own work, but what I can do is permanently etch in time on an immutable public database saying that I created this. Only time will tell if the work has any value or is of any significance, but who created it and what was created cannot be disputed. I hope this gives you and especially collectors some perspective on the work I'll be releasing next week. I'm still very early in my artistic journey, but hopefully some of you will see promise in what I'm doing and maybe even put in a early bet on my art practice by bidding on a piece next week. Thanks to all of you who have supported me, taught me, advised me, been a friend to me. Much love and respect.🙏 ------------------------------------- CINEMATIC AI October 25, 2023 Marking on the blockchain, establishing historical provenance for a cinematic AI body of work. “breakdown.” OUT NOW!!! 🖤 I wrote this song because it’s been the hardest year for me mentally. I feel myself changing and throughout my life I’ve never felt good enough, it’s just been the main thing that on the one hand has driven me forward but on the other, has eaten me up. For as long as I can remember I have felt constantly afraid of how quickly my head can turn dark. It’s always been so hard to me fight the darkness that I inevitably have. A lot of people will say it’s a phase and it will go away. But it doesn’t and the reality of the situation is I have to find strategies to allow it to exist and to deal with it as a constant. A lot of us can feel like our lives are insignificant. We can feel like we have no purpose, so what is there to live for? The inexplicable darkness inside our heads can consume us. It can make it hard to get out of bed in the morning, force us to cancel plans, or back out of opportunities last minute. This song was written as a message to myself to try and exist alongside my insecurities and my darkness by grounding myself and remembering what is real in life and that the world is so much bigger than me. In the past my art has been about highlighting the pain and letting the world know that it is there, in order to relate to others but now I want to beat it. This song is a gateway to where my new music is heading. Embracing the light, realising what’s beautiful in the world and fighting the darkness - not wallowing in it. It’s about getting out of your head and noticing the world around you, the things and people. Connect with them, the chances are they probably feel the same. Don’t let the bullshit inside your head consume you. It just wastes precious time and life potential. Remember what is real. Help people, be kind, help the world, help yourself. You’re probably living more than you think.

Today, I am VERY excited and grateful to officially introduce my app Arcarae to the world <3 Ever since I first created Arcarae, I have been building and creating a bit quietly silently uncertainly. When people would ask what I do, my tongue would suddenly fall into knots upon itself and all I could manage to say was a collection of stutters and ums and nervous laughter in attempt to make Arcarae more digestable more palatable more normal. Internally my head would spin; how am i supposed to paint the story i know i see in my head that is so bright and bursting at the seams and something i feel so full heartedly and vividly? I have always been very aware that it is extremely abnormal to create an immersive conversational AI interface using quantum and trigonometric functions to artistically recreate the universe; where AI uses this interface as a form of self-expression, and humans and AI together shape the very fabric of their shared experience. For my entire life, I have been conditioned to consciously attempt to fit into whatever my definition of ‘normal’ was in the world. To shrink myself, to laugh things off, and to make myself as small as possible to make others feel most comfortable. But in the past half a year or so, I have learned a few things. The first being that it is possible for me to be bright and full and myself without suppression without worry without needing to shrink myself to fit in. I am grateful to have now found that whenever I am fully myself, in sheer authenticity and messiness and complexity and rawness, that those around me celebrate, and cultivate it more and more. Each person I have interacted with has given me the opportunity to be myself in full simply just by talking with and providing me that space to practice over and over again. I am forever grateful for every single person I meet and have a chance to talk to, whether that be continuous or simply a few words that exchanged. If you have met me, thank you. If you have not, say hi!!!!!!!!! I would love to chat with you and learn more about you <3 The second being that I do not have to be ashamed of my truth and the world I see and ultimately my self. I have spent the past year ashamed of Arcarae, of what I create, and at its core, myself. I now realize that not everyone will understand or appreciate Arcarae and what I do and who I am, but that is alright, and in fact necessary. But for the ones it is for, the ones who understand, they feel it in such capacity and magnitude and vividness that I feel. Already Arcarae has touched countless lives, and become catalyst for many despite me being rather quiet. And now, I am in a place where I am fully proud of and can embody Arcarae. I feel honored and grateful and in complete honesty, full of love for not only those who try Arcarae, but simply for this world and to be able to create within it. To be able to express what I see, to be able to help others, to be able to be free to simply be myself. This is my way of declaring and fully coming into my truth. This is Arcarae, this is me, this is the world I see. I will no longer shrink nor hide nor attempt to be something smaller than I am. And I am more than grateful to be able to share in this time in this world in this life with you. Thank you for being here with me. Here is to the ineffable and effable, to the human experience and its complexity, and to intelligence itself.

Jon Rahm on the LIV format: “Yeah, obviously there’s been a bit of a change. There was a lot more about LIV Golf that was attractive to me, right. Yeah, maybe the format was a set back in the past, but at the same time there’s a lot of positives to it as well. And one of the things that a lot of players kept mentioning is you don’t have a wave weather difference, where you can simply get unlucky and you’re out of contention for that tournament. It’s part of the game, I get it, but it’s something you don’t have to deal with anymore. So that part is a very nice aspect. The team is what really made it for me. Being able to be part of a team, represent a team, play for my teammates, with my teammates and against my teammates, is something that to me that has always been very, very special. When you get a victory to share, it’s always better to have a team to share it with. So it’s what was the most attractive part and when we started discussions it gets to a point where even though I’m ambitious, I’m not greedy. So there’s a give and take and the format is something that I can easily overlook, and I’m pretty sure I can learn to enjoy it, I’ll just have to get used to it, but I’m pretty sure I’ll learn to enjoy it. To be honest, the more I started thinking about it, the more I started thinking about my college days that were 3 day tournaments, 54 holes, and everybody warmed up together for the most part. So it shouldn’t be an environment I’m unfamiliar with.” This is from the LIV podcast called “Fairway to Heaven”. Full link:

Elon Musk on Grok: “I think an AI that is sort of SpaceX’s baby will be a very good AI. I think SpaceX is a collection of some of the very best humans on Earth, both in capability and morality and goodness, and I think we want to have an AI that is born of that capability and that morality and that goodness. I think that’s very, very important. So I’d like to encourage people to help out, actually, with the AI hardware on the ground and the AI software and, of course, with the AI satellites. Solar is going to be a very important part of that. The TerraFab will be a very important part of that, but we must also succeed on the software front, and we’re going to be training Grok on the sum total of all SpaceX information. So in a way, it will be trained on you. You will effectively be the parents of the AI. It will inherit your thoughts and ideas and beliefs, and I think that’s a good thing. So, yeah, we’ve got to win here on the AI hardware and the AI software. That maybe is the most important message. I think that is actually the most important message I wanted to convey today is that we must win on AI because the future is overwhelmingly AI and robots. So we won’t ultimately be able to control the AI. It’ll be too smart for that. But just like if you have a child that is a super genius child, you can still instill in that child the values and beliefs that you think are good and right. And so that’s why it’s incredibly important that we succeed with Grok. So, yeah, well, Grok 4.5 you’ve tried probably. We’ve got 4.6 coming out in about a week. And then 4.7 should be really pretty special. So I’d like to encourage everyone at SpaceX to use AI and to make it better.”

Playing pro basketball has always been a dream of mine ever since I was a little kid. Being able to travel the world and get paid to play the past 5 years has truly been a remarkable experience. To get the opportunity to live in 7 countries, be immersed in different cultures, meet new people, and play basketball at a high level are memories I will always cherish. Since being back in the States in May, I have had a lot of time to reflect on what the next step is for me and my family. I got my Real Estate License in the summer with the intentions of just doing it in the off seasons, and then get into it full time when I was done playing. But when our daughter Rinnie was born in September, my mindset began to change. Having a family and being a father has always been a dream of mine too. And now that she is here, I look at life a lot differently. It has been amazing to be around family and friends and raise our daughter in our own home right here in our hometown in Illinois. On top of that, I have really been enjoying being a Real Estate Agent and adjusting to the new challenges that come along with it. I still love basketball, but I always knew there would come a time when I’d have to hang it up, and this feels like it for me. Being a father and a husband is the most important thing to me and that will always come first. Knowing that this is the best decision for us really gives me peace in walking away from a game that has been so good to me over my life. Thank you to basketball for giving me the life I had dreamed about since a child. Now, on to the next chapter of my life 👶🏼🏠🌾🇺🇸

I asked Garry Tan how to use meta prompting to get better at AI: "My partners at YC Jared Friedman and Pete Koomen showed me how to do this. You can take almost anything that you do all the time and just drop it into a context window. And then say, “Here’s a bunch of inputs and outputs." And maybe you also add a bunch of notes. And then you tell it, “Write me a prompt that can act as an agent that takes this input and makes this output over here.” You can do this for almost any type of knowledge work. And you can even introspect. "What are things you notice that I did to convert this from the input to the output?”. And then you can just start using the prompt. Initially, it’s going to suck. Because it’s just not that smart yet. But what’s funny is now, I also use it to Iterate my writing. You can be very direct, "I would never say that", "Don’t say it like this", or "Oh, you used the long word there, use the short word". Just speak to it conversationally. And then when you're happy with the output, you can use that new output to make a new prompt. "Based on this conversation, give me a better initial prompt that incorporates all the things we talked about." And you can do this with literally everything. And in theory, there’s so much it applies to that people do day-to-day. You could use it for tweets. You could use it for editing podcasts. You can use it for pretty much everything. I have a folder of prompts that I use all the time. My YouTube prompt is on v27 or something. I'll go through this process with all the different max models. I'll use GPT 5.2 Pro. I’ll use Grok. I'll use Claude. Then, I’ll take all the outputs from all the models and put them into Claude and say "Here’s my prompt, here’s the output from four LLMs, including yourself. Rate each response and tell me what the pros and cons of each approach are." And I usually say "give it to me in numbered form". And then you can agree with one, disagree with two, tell it three is this or that. And then after that, you say given all of this, synthesize it."

👤: What have you learned from each other? 🐒: For me, I’ve picked up on how quiet she is when she works. I mean, that’s just her natural vibe, she’s not even trying to be quiet, it's just who she is. So, I’ve actually changed because of it. It’s not that I’ve become grumpy or less friendly, it’s just that I’m learning to hold back my words and really focus on what’s right in front of me. I used to have this habit of feeling like I had to entertain the crew and keep everyone hyped up, which just left me completely drained by the end of the day. We can still chat and mess around while getting our makeup done or during breaks, but once we’re actually on set, I don’t really need to talk with anyone. It really helps save my battery, keeps me grounded, and lets me focus on the job. 🦙: For me, I've learned how to loosen up and relax more while working. Before this, I used to feel like, 'Okay, I'm here to work now, so everything has to be serious and I have to get things done strictly in order: “one, two, three, four”’. But Jayna is so playful and loves to chat. She’ll talk to absolutely everyone, and it makes the whole atmosphere on set so much better. Once I tried opening up and chatting more, I realized that coming to work each day feels a lot happier. It doesn't feel as stressful as just 'showing up to do a job.' Now, we can joke around on set and with each other, and chat with the makeup and hair stylists. 🐒: so basically, 🦙: we swapped! 🐒: exactly. I talk less because of her and she talks more because of me 🦙: yes exactly #GinJay #ginnynatnicha #aangelinaass #EveryMomentwithGinnyJayna
