I remember hearing someone once complain that Burt was a fun character that is enjoyable to watch in the movie but also he likes guns so the messaging was very confusing and they didn't understand what the director wanted them to feel so they were uncomfortable.

I love this scene because you fully expect Burt and Heather to get killed off when it starts but when the camera pans over to show an entire wall of guns you’re just like “Wait, can they actually do it?” and the scene goes on for a long time but they eventually do kill the thing.

Burt is the actual protagonist of the franchise.
