Climate models have no predictive value. There's no validly scientific reason to think recent warming is caused by our CO₂ emissions.

Maybe SOME scientists are confounded. James Hansen, Makiko Sato, and Leon Simons, et al, appear to have explained the recent temperature spike reasonably well. Now, others, like MM & ZH seem to be trying to explain their accurate work without admitting they were right.

Looks a lot like @mikehudema crazy CGI. Meant to deceive the eye with Net 0 useful information. There is enough uncertainty in temperature and concentration data to cloud any causality claims of a gaseous plant food.

Global warming has had an adverse effect on rain patterns; as warmer air results in more evaporation of water from land. A warmer atmosphere can also hold more water vapor which, in turn increases average rainfall and therefore flooding. Global warming is real! In the 1980s and ‘90s, scientists had a difficult time trying to convince people that global warming of 1-3°C, even up to 4°C, was a problem because the diurnal and seasonal temperature fluctuation is several times larger than that. Hurricane Katrina changed all of that in 2005. Once scientists and politically savvy opportunists saw that they could try linking extreme weather events to global warming, they could more easily convince people that if the world warms by a certain amount, all these bad things will start to happen. The reason meteorologists like myself tend to be highly critical of those who habitually tie extreme weather events to anthropogenic global warming is because we actually have a physical understanding of atmospheric dynamics and processes involved in how extreme events materialize. Hunga Tonga is still affecting the atmosphere. On January 15, 2022, the underwater volcano erupted in the South Pacific. It blasted roughly 160 million metric tons of water vapor into the stratosphere, increasing levels by an unprecedented 10%. Most major eruptions cool the planet by injecting reflective aerosols. Hunga Tonga erupted underwater and punched seawater high into the atmosphere. Water vapor is the most dominant greenhouse gas. NASA warned the eruption could have a temporary warming effect. Global temperatures then spiked in 2023 and 2024. Predictably though, the spike was sold as proof of accelerating CO2-driven warming. Activist-scientists downplayed any influence from the record Hunga Tonga eruption. But now comes the next test: The excess water vapor is now declining, slowly, and with it, global temperatures are also falling. The "accelerating crisis" looks a lot like a temporary atmospheric pulse - now fading on schedule. Here again, we have a natural driver dominating Earth's climate.
