Does this British Prime Minister even have a clue that from 2014 to 2020, it was the Ukrainian government in Kyviv treating East Ukrainians like second-class citizens,banning them from speaking their own language, Russian,and that same government was responsible for killing over 14.000 of them? That was the entire reason Putin stepped in to protect them in February 2020. But of course, Western leaders conveniently ignore that part of the story....

The irony? The deputy himself is Russian-speaking. As a Ukrainian speaker, it’s oddly satisfying for me to hear this — like watching a fire alarm lecture you about arson. But these days it’s fashionable to earn cheap political capital by bullying the working class over language.

Tomio Okamura, Speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies and leader of the pro-Russian SPD movement, says he agrees with what he describes as the view of “most Czechs” that Ukraine should cede territories where Russians have historically lived in order to end the war. What an embarrassingly stupid imperial take. Russian-speaking Ukrainians are not automatically Russians, just as English-speaking Americans are not automatically English. Language is not ownership. And Ukraine is not Russia’s colonial property!!!

A girl from Donetsk region was lucky to study in a Ukrainian-language school (Yanukovych was closing Ukrainian schools in Donbas despite overcrowding, replacing them with schools for Russian minorities). And although she understands general words in Russian, she does not know the Russian language, and all her classmates could not understand the subject explanations when they got a Russian-speaking teacher. The girl is angry that people think everyone in Donbas knows Russian or that everyone in Donbas is pro-Russian. The entire western part of Ukraine, by the way, does not understand Russian at all, except for older people who lived through Soviet times, and in Kyiv it is fifty-fifty.

In today's Nigeria, criticism is treated like a crime and those who speak up are branded enemies of the Government. In a country that we have working government by now the president should have resign since he's not capable of protecting it's citizens but instead of that he's busy campaigning for second term. Nigerians can only hope for leadership that prioritizes results over rhetoric. What a pity Nigerians.

Today is the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion and ten years of Russia's war with Ukraine I would like to honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died during this horrible war. Our heroic Defenders who laid down their lives for Ukraine's freedom and independence, for our future. Ukrainians who were killed by Russian attacks on peaceful towns and villages. Let's remember all those tortured to death by the enemies in prisons, shot for flying the Ukrainian flag or for the words "Slava Ukraini," killed in their homes by Russian missiles. We remember all those who sacrificed their lives for bringing our Victory closer and all those whose lives were destroyed by Russia. Eternal memory to all of them.

The new calls for foreigners to learn Lithuanian in Vilnius 🇱🇹 are still being dismissed by some as "politics." But it shouldn’t be seen that way at all. Historically, the Lithuanian language has been pushed into the shadows more than once. Today, we’re again seeing the public space being dominated by russian. These initiatives aren't about control, they’re a reminder that this is Lithuania and the Lithuanian language is the norm here. It’s about respect, plain and simple. Language shouldn't be a matter of politics. Lithuanians don't want russian to be the default in their own city. This isn't up for debate - it's a lesson learned from history.
