PTI women have been abducted and are being mistreated in jails, kept under inhumane conditions and subjected to severe mental torture when none were involved in the arson. They were humiliated while protesting peacefully only to terrorise and scare women from exercising their fundamental right of protest in future and also to depoliticise them. I am proud of the way all our women have withstood everything with such dignity and courage.

I'm absolutely anguished at the inhumane treatment that has been meted out to the Indians who have been deported from the United States of America and brought to Amritsar. They are not criminals; they may have illegally entered the US in search of a better life. The first question that needs to be determined, for which there are no answers so far, is whether the due process of law, as available in the US, has been followed for their deportation. If at all they are deported, why do you need to handcuff them, shackle them for hours, and make them eat food with their hands in handcuffs? This is absolutely inhumane and medieval. We are not living in barbaric times; every person has the right to be treated with human dignity. Yes, you don't want them in your country. Ostensibly, they entered illegally. You are sending them back; GoI is taking them back, but at least send them back with dignity and respect.
