Aramark and other food companies that provide food to Prisons also have contracts to provide food to our Public Schools. The kids shouldnt be eating the same food as prisoners.

Literally anything else is better than the DoD running the school lunch program

Bro, cafeterias don’t cook anymore. They just heat shit up.

Working in a school, the waste in Food & Nutrition is insane. The food is disgusting and if the States can do a much better job and provide healthier, more tasty foods with real substance.

Hell yeah Chef!! Get this in front of President, should be a nationwide test/trial.

Cafeteria’s should be run like a good restaurant. Quality food first and foremost and choices

You’ve got some very good ideas. You have a firm understanding of it. I really feel like we need to get you in front of somebody either statewide or federally that could actually do some good about it. When I asked my girlfriend what her daughter eats at school and what they feed her. It’s all carbs and just processed food. It’s so unhealthy. These kids brains are growing and they need quality food. I commend you for speaking up on this. I know it’s at your heart. Also, we need education on eating healthy. These kids want something that taste good and they don’t realize that healthy food can’t taste good done in the right way.

Of course they want free school food for all. It’s all processed garbage packed junk. No wonder it gets lobbied to death

I love this idea. it goes hand in hand with your video you did last week w that lady at her place she was growing food. if this could be a state level, and then down to a community level. that part you said about detroit & the vast land that is run down that could be turned into sustainable food sources if I won the mega lotto & got half a B $; I would so try & start that. love your ideas chef G, keep em coming. i’ve already changed to no (or as no as I can) seed oil. got rid of all tupperware, only glass or pyrex. and hope to make my first wood cutting board in the next month or so. then make them to sell to friends & family for pennie’s on the dollar!!!

We do this for homeless shelters all around Detroit Metro every January (organized through our Archdiocese) We are given recipes to make at home and bring in covered aluminum pans. This is absolutely doable.
